Went to see Milan v Napoli the other week.

San Siro is f***ing huuuuuuge! Pictures definitely don't do it justice.

I found it weird that there isn't really any concourse. You go through the security gates and straight to the stairs and ramps that are open onto the outside of the stadium then when you get to your level you're just through a doorway and you're right there in the seats. No real interior to the place (unless there is closer to the bottom floors that I missed).

Great atmosphere in there too. The ultras sing pretty much constantly for the whole game and it sounds so different from St James. When we sing it's distinguishable as "A f*** load of people singing the same song" but when they do it it's in such unison that it just sounds like one big booming voice.

Definitely need to start planning more trips around matches. Great night, despite the game ending 0-0.

To join the H Club, you must purchase a minimum of two seats within it for terms five, seven or ten years. There is a one off membership fee of £30,000 +vat for those two seats and a season fee per seat of £15,000 +vat.

There is also the Tunnel Club, where fans can watch observe Harry Kane & Co through one-way glass in the tunnel while they dine. Those set in the lower part of the west stand again require a minimum purchase of two seats with a one off membership fee of £30,000 +vat for the two seats. The season ticket fee per seat is £9,500 +vat.

There are also sideline suites, or boxes, in the west and east stand, which range from eight to 12 seats and cost between £72,000 and £132,000 for five, seven or ten year terms. That works out at prices from £9,000 a head.

Other premium areas are the Super Loge and Loge, which offers a combination of being in a member's club and use of a suite. The Super Loge seats in the west stand work out at between £10,000 and £11,000 + VAT per head and the Loge seats in the east East come in at £7,000 to £9,000 +VAT per head.

There are yet more premium areas, with the Sky Lounge, which offers panoramic views across London and holds 516 people. That boasts seats in both the west and east stands with fees per seat ranging from £5,500 to £6,500 +VAT.

Premium seats in the east and west stands, an upgrade on a normal supporter seat, cost between £2,500 and £6,000 +vat per season.

mental, just mental that before you can pay your season ticket cost of £15k a year you have to pay £30k for the privilege

however here's why

lets say theres 100 seats in that lounge

so 50 memberships (for 2 seats as above) x £36k membership = £1,800,000 up front for spurs

100 season tickets x £18k = £1,800,000 per season for 5, 7, 10 years from that lounge alone

also, remember some people will leave etc so new members will pay £36k up front plus another £36k for two seats in their first year

so £72k for the first year to watch your club - thats more than double the price a box at our place by the way

The people paying that are doing it as a corporate expense or writing it off with some other accounting trick. People spending that never end up paying the full ticket price.

It's very American model now and quite frankly it's what these owners are now attempting to capture the most money on from match-going folks. You want them to come as early as possible, spend as much money as possible, then leave. Do it all over again.

They have to, the costs of stadiums have sky rocketed over the last 2 decades for various reasons.

The mackems built the SoL original size for £15m which is pretty good tbf.

Yeah man, I don't fault it. We can no longer grasp on to the past - money has changed everything and the stadiums are so well built that they want to make it an experience - all the money going into it - you almost make the stadium visit an additional attraction to the action on the field.

Mega complexes like LA Live that feature Staples Center include a Ritz-Carlton hotel, Ritz residences, a JW Marriott convention hotel, about 12 high energy restaurants and bars, the Microsoft Theatre which hosts the grammys, oscars and other special events in media and fashion. They do car launches in the LA Live complex. And hell, you could do a ton of the LA Live experience before hitting up a game at Staples Center to to see hockey or NBA. These major projects are what entices investment.

Still not ready

From someone who I know, the guys that were supposed to do the safety systems didn't put in 100+ miles of fibre cables for them.

Getting to the point now that where they might as well just say we'll be in at the beginning of next season.
The Premier League should force them too.

Wolves chiefs today re-stated their plans to increase the capacity of Molineux toward 50,000 in the medium to long-term future - committing their future to the club's home.

Club bosses hope the expansion will make the ground the focal point of the city, as they look to build further on the success of Nuno Espirito Santo and his team.

Molineux currently holds 31,700 but Wolves are already struggling to cope with demand in their first season back in the Premier League, with a season ticket waiting list of 2,500 people.

31,700 to 50,000. We have proof of demand, 2,500 on a waiting list.

I like clubs being more ambitious and trying to get more fans in.
The thing with Wolves is how substainable is it? If Mendes sets up a link elsewhere with someone else paying more money then his players arn’t going to Wolves. What happens with the fans then? What happens if their ceiling is 7th and the fans turn away because they can’t get above that? What happens when other West Midlands teams comeback up and they have more competition for fans?

What if they reestablish themselves as The Greatest Club in the World? The reason the European Cup was set up was to shut their fans up.

Establishing themselves as a "power" in their region is easily achievable, and after that it's as much a case of where you set your ambitions as what conventional wisdom says they can achieve.

I don’t think it’s a bad idea, I just think they should look to see how the demand stabilises. 1 season in the Premier League with decent players and big deman is something, but that could easily go back to average players or even back into the Championship very quickly and then where do they stand?

Probs not very interesting for many, but a nice little overview, and great for me as I come from the area but live far, far away now. It's a nice way to see a hint of how it will change the surrounding area.
Obviously, I'm speaking of a hypothetical world in which there is a greater club than Tottenham.
