oh god sky pushing the whole scholes for player of the year thing again. "crime hes not won it before" etc. when have we heard that before? oh yeah when giggs won it recently

Tell me about it, had an argument with mates over that earlier in the season. Since when did player of the year become a lifetime achievement award? It'll be f***ing Neville next year.

Ruud Gullit is 110% going to attempt to have sex with Gareth Bale sometime soon.

You might as well just give this year's to Denis Irwin - it defeats the point that much.

Also re-affirms how pathetic the media's hold over football is these days.

Credit to Spurs tbh, great European night. Good for them.

Bale really is superb at the moment.

He'll get a move to a big club soon enough.

Obviously, I'm speaking of a hypothetical world in which there is a greater club than Tottenham.

I don't know if I've watched slightly less Spanish football this season or the fact I don't have SSN anymore, or whatever it is, but I haven't heard AS much about him. It's just accepted he's going to be utterly insane.

Quote from: guardian article at the weekend
Leo Messi scored two, taking his total to 41 in his past 42 league games, 61 in his past 61 in total. Just as Ronaldo now boasts 38 in his 38 league games for Real Madrid.

The gap in quality between Messi and Ronaldo, and then whoever you want to say is 3rd best in the world is absolutely staggering.

Over the last two league seasons, Drogba has scored 35 in less than 40 appearances. He's close as far as statistics will take you.

Hmm.

Not all players are goal scorers though. Xavi & Iniesta por example.

I was thinking that myself.

I also agree that people like Xavi and Iniesta are arguably in the same bracket.
