That's troll off the christmas card list then
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pope_Francis#Contraception

I'm probably missing something here because I'm drunk, but doesn't that Wikipedia link say he's against contraception?

Kinda. Says he might see them as permissible for disease prevention but opposed Argentina's government handing them out for free. He might just have shares in Durex.

You'd think the Vatican background check would have turned up something like that.
Just realized you aren't Dave, dick. Now I gotta actually do s***.

I'm an atheist. Have always been so. Still, really liking the new Pope. He's not just good by Pope standards, he's a man with a platform that's using it for good.

Until he tells Africa that contraception is fine, he's still a piece of s*** like the rest of them.

From what I've read he's done everything but come out and say it directly.

He always gives the impression he's much more concerned with poverty and sickness than the old sex-related doctrines. I think it won't be long before he's openly behind contraceptives. We'll see, I guess.

Let's hope so - coming out and saying it directly is the important thing.

I liked it when he said atheists would still get into heaven.  Who was he trying to appease there?

Did he really say that? f*** off, Pope.

Apparently so. He certainly seems to be cut from a different cloth than his predecessor, I'll give him that.
Ultimately though, in the final analysis, he still believes there's a man in the sky who listens to his thoughts (and interferes in stuff on Earth) on a daily basis  :idiot2:

I suspect he will turn out to be just like that horrible little c*** before him. Condescending little runt reckons atheists can get into heaven?  He's just taking the p*ss.

If he is so proactive on poverty, as I have said before,  sell the Vatican and all its contents and feed the world.

The squalid little s*** before him tried it on that way when was first elected.  Popes in general must get p*ssed off.  Every day they pray for World Peace and every day they are completely ignored.

I think you are looking for the "gays rule ok" thread as religion forbids horrendous acts of gayness yet allows total mongs to breed

Old, but evolution explains the apparent "design" of the banana.  Fruit is the way a plant disperses its seeds: the fruit gets eaten and the seeds are excreted somewhere else, allowing a new plant to grow, and with free fertiliser!  Fruits will evolve to become more likely to be eaten - in the case of the banana, one that can be eaten easily by a monkey will be favoured.

Before we deliberately bred them to be soft and tasty, they were horrible and woody, with a thick skin and had to be boiled before you could eat them.

America's First Openly Pastafarian Politician Sworn Into Office

A small-town council member from New York is making national headlines this week after becoming the first openly Pastafarian politician to be sworn into public office.

Christopher Schaeffer, the newest member of the Pomfret Town Council, isn't just an ordinary member of the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster — he's a full-fledged minister.

For those who have yet to be touched by His noodly appendage, Pastafarianism, it is a satirical movement with a serious mission: Keeping the teaching of intelligent design and creationism out of public classrooms.

Schaeffer drew many side glances for his unusual decision to wear a colander to his swearing in on Friday. The colander, or pasta strainer, is the traditional headgear of Pastafarians.

"It's just a statement about religious freedom," said Schaeffer when asked by the Observer about his parody faith. "It's a religion without any dogma."

Bobby Henderson, the church's "founder," wrote in a blog post on the official Flying Spaghetti Monster site, that Schaeffer's behavior will most likely be misconstrued.

"Some people will see it as obnoxious or a sign that he's not taking the oath of office seriously," wrote Henderson. " But I am completely confident that Schaeffer will distinguish himself as a Council member of the highest caliber."

Indeed, Schaeffer told the Observer that his intention was to demonstrate just how inclusive he intends to be.

"Mostly, I'm just looking forward to making sure that the town is run smoothly and we meet the needs of all of our citizens," he told the paper. "If anybody ever has any concerns or questions, I hope they contact me, because I want to make sure that everyone is represented."
Thier is not a word. "Their" is the correct spelling.

Win, Lose or Draw. NOT "Loose"!

Yes its a cracking program.  This is the one where one of the presenters - when asked a particular question -stated "If I saw a rape I would do all in my power to stop it.  That's the difference between your God and me".
