We obviously targeting a draw

What else could Rafa have done. Start Shelvey, perhaps but apart from that...
Sir Bobby Robson: “What is a club in any case? Not the buildings or the directors or the people who are paid to represent it. It’s not the television contracts, get-out clauses, marketing departments or executive boxes. It’s the noise, the passion, the feeling of belonging, the pride in your city. It’s a small boy clambering up stadium steps for the very first time, gripping his father’s hand, gawping at that hallowed stretch of turf beneath him and, without being able to do a thing about it, falling in love.”

They will have most of the ball but Rafa will be looking to control the game despite that. He will be trying to win the game.

Brooks is playing central midfield for them should mean Almiron and Perez will get extra space to hurt them in the pockets if playing 3-4-2-1 :thup:

Wish Shelvey was starting to supply Almiron and Perez though.

I think Shelvey career is all but over at Newcastle. He might get a couple of cameo's until the end of the season but he will be sold in the summer.

looking to stay in the game before unleashing shelvey to nick it.
john gibson in the chronicle this afternoon;
"John Carver has talked of playing two up top in an effort to score goals, tactically be more direct to grind out points, and just about every other possibility known to man or beast. They are the ramblings of a drowning desperado."

Diame in is weird. Not feeling confident.

He was really good when he came on as a sub last week, although you can never really tell which Diame is going to turn up.

Not much else he could do in central midfield, clearly being careful with Shelvey after a few false starts coming back form injury and getting injured again.

Clinton Morrison says one of the reasons Newcastle fans don't rate Perez is because, "they spent a bit of money on him".

:lol: There are so many baseless guesses that would have been right at least to an extent as well. Picks the one thing that doesn't apply and not one single Newcastle fan has the slightest issue with. :lol:

More idiotic comments from people who are supposed to be clued up on football and given a media platform.

Yep saw that. He's as thick as he sounds.

"Who did you go for in this game, Clinton?"

Then he looks for his bit of paper he's written it on? Surely you know you cretin?
