  1. Reports are saying they are expecting an 80,000 attendance for the game at the MCG tomorrow. I am flying over from WA with the family. Have seen friends getting photos with Pope, Murphy and Burn by the river.

    Lewis Hall

He’s already at a top class level for being in possession, dribbling, passing. Just his one on one defending needs work and working on his athleticism. Strength/pace work. Hes going to be a special player.

    Joelinton

Forgetting him missing that sitter. He absolutely transforms our midfield. Hes everything we’ve been missing. Athletic, wins the ball, drives forward and been really good in possession.
  4. Surely if it’s 442 and Gordon is out we go: Pope Trippier Schar. Burn. Hall Almiron. Bruno. Joelinton. Barnes Isak. Wilson
  5. I think Pope becomes the backup. Gives him time to get back to full strength.
  6. I think a lot depends on how Pope recovers from this shoulder injury. There’s a high possibility he isn’t the same keeper diving to that side than he was or that he reinjures it again. The fact Dubravka is still starting, suggests he isn’t training the house down.
  7. They are going for 5 days, I would imagine they will stay on European time zones or only a few hours different. Stay up late and sleep in. I feel like his comments are a slap in the face to the NUFC fans who have paid thousands of dollars to come and see the lads in Melbourne from all over the country.
  8. European football and Premier League is still insanely popular. Football is still the most participated sport in Oz. There is an appetite for it for sure. The A-League is just awful and poorly administrated . They just continue to kick own goals. But kind of entertaining in a way you would laugh at someone farting at a funeral. I think from Trippiers point of view, these players forget they are paid in a week what most people don't earn in 4 years. Flying first class to Australia and staying in a 5 star hotel. He will likely only play 90 minutes over there, which going by his performance on the weekend he needs as many games as he can get, to get back into form.
  9. He’s not match fit. 7 or so weeks out, with no games and straight into the premier league. He is nowhere near the pace offered the game.
  10. Not at the races at all today against a poor Man Utd side. No excuses.

    Alfie Harrison

He’ll probably head with the squad to Australia. 2 games in 3 days. good chance for Kuol, Alex Murphy, Joe White and some other youngsters to get some game time.
  12. I would take Darwin at the toon. Think once he hit his straps, he’ll be a 20 goal a year striker.
  13. Crazy they didn’t do better with a midfield involving Rice and Paqueta. That’s a top class midfield .

    Jacob Murphy

He’s been excellent for two seasons now. He is disciplined in his positioning, works hard, selects the right options in possession, whips in a great ball. His main downside is his shooting and finishing, but he’s been unlucky hitting the post. Hes a great lad, loves the club and his teammates. Squad players like Murphy are priceless.
