  1. Not that I necessarily think we will go for him, but this is what Maldini has said about his next job ... “For my job, the alternatives (in Italy) to Milan are very limited,” he said in December. “I could never go to another Italian team. Possibly I would only evaluate the offer of a high-level foreign team. I like winning and building. Saudi Arabia could be a stimulating option, who knows.”
  2. Didn't even bother finishing it. No idea who wrote that nonsense and what they were on.
  3. Joe Aribo is never ever a winger! Why Southampton signed him and played him there that season in the Premier League, I will never know. Looks like they finally realised he's a central midfielder and he's been doing well there of late for them in the Championship. I'd have him ahead of Longstaff every single time.
  4. I'll only really pipe up if I like a player though, so it would seem that way To be fair I wouldn't sign Awoniyi, but that guy is one of my favourite people in football. Such a good dude from very very humble beginnings. Adebayo came up because it looks like that is who Everton are targeting to replace Calvert Lewin, and some said they'd rather have him. He was causing Premier League defences trouble prior to his injury, and has the physical attributes that would work well in our system, so I get it. I think he'd be really useful as a back up. Would I actually want us to target him as a priority though ... not really, he'd be one to go for further down the list, only if we struggled to get better.
  5. It's so incredibly simple man. Let's drag it out and go to arbitration. Already doing early business, while Man Utd are in limbo. It's all absolutely perfect.
  6. We're cooking up a storm! Love some early business being done before all the summer madness starts with all the tournaments taking place.
  7. Most of them are solid to really good players, so to not like at all in some capacity? I'd need to see a full list, there'd be a few I'm sure. Off the top of my head, I definitely don't like Ola Aina though. You seem to only rate super technical players at the very best clubs like Man City and Real though, so we have very different outlooks on things. I don't need a player to be perfect to like their game, and liking them doesn't mean they're necessarily a world beater or top player either.
  8. He is incredible in the air too.
  9. Awoniyi is also a handful and is a top guy character wise, but his injury problems are just continuous. I wouldn't be involved in any kind of deal to sign him. Wish him the best though. Really great guy is Awoniyi.
  10. I'm pleasantly surprised others on here like him too. Thought he had a good season for them that would have been even better had he not got injured for a bit.
  11. I like him a lot, but didn't want to say so on here, because I couldn't be bothered with the responses from people that didn't really watch him closely. I agree with you 100%.
  12. DCL is entering the last year of his current deal. His agent may just be using us to get his name out there to help secure a new contract. Or perhaps Everton are going to be making him available for a price that is very good value, which we might deem to be worth it. There's been reports that Everton are keen on Adebayo from Luton as a replacement.
  13. From what I've read he's a similar profile to Pope. Big, commanding in the area, and a great shot stopper. Seems to be okay with the ball and distribution, but that's an improvement on Pope, who is below average on those. I like it. Don't think we necessarily need a keeper that is a ball player to the extent of those in the more control based sides, as that isn't really our whole approach. Just need a general uptick in distribution both short and long.
  14. In my opinion these types of clubs need to do a better job of identifying the kind of manager they bring in then. Some managers are completely married to their philosophy and how they play. Its less likely to bode well for a team trying to come up and stay in the Premier League if the type of play isn't as pragmatic or compact, if they are unable to get better players in when promoted, and so that was likely the mistake in the first place.
  15. No, not really, but then the clubs coming up have to figure out a way to get better players in to suit the style of play of the manager.
