About midds

  1. I'm taking nothing for granted yet but they're not 1/7 to win the cup without good reason. They're ultra-professional and will want to beat Man U at Wembo as much as we would ourselves. It's not done but I'd be astonished if this Man U team turn up and beat one of the best teams on the planet in a Cup final.
  2. This is quite nice too. Tells the story
  3. A picture tells a thousand words. Immense at home, decidedly dodgy away. Not too many 0's there either Said at the start of the season that 6th or 7th would be about par so going into the last game with a chance of 6th, 7th or 8th seems about right. But that ignores the context of how we've got there, I said 6th or 7th based on a normal season but it's been anything but normal. The horrendous Cup draws, skewed League fixture list, the Tonali ban, the ridiculous injury situation, the Paris mugging, the Liverpool (H) kick in the knackers, the same XI for about 10 games in a row through no fault of anyone and Pope's digestive shoulder. 7th doesn't quite tell the story and we've defied the odds to get there when 11th or 12th was a real prospect in February. All things considered he's done brilliantly but I bet he'll want to draw a line under this season, lots of good memories, lots of great goals and performances but it seems a little bitter-sweet as it could have been so much better with a few things falling in our favour. But that's the game, it happens, not sure he could have done too much better given the cards he was dealt
  4. Are they saying the Casemiro challenge wasn't a foul or that he just wasn't fouled at all? If they're being as anal as I think they are they then they're saying they looked at Casemiro's challenge and decided it wasn't a foul. If they're just saying that the Amrabat challenge wasn't a fouls then the whole thing needs blowing up - it's as clear a foul as you're ever ever going to get. If they're saying scraping your boot down someone's achilles ISN'T a foul then the whole sport is utterly fucked
  5. Get the Georgian. Bring him to me
  6. And I'll be avoiding/missing every single second of it. It's visual hives
  7. Seems like it should be an April Fools joke or something like that. Incorporating dialling codes into the cuffs and shit like that? Christ almighty man

    Sean Longstaff

He's offering nothing any longer in general play, he's borderline pathetic now. Loads of effort and I'm sure his distance stats look decent but he's a passenger. Doesn't help out defensively, sometimes finishes a chance in the box, doesn't get close enough to press, touch and technique lets him down regularly, misplaces passes, can't stop opposition attacks, occupies the wrong spaces, backs out of challenges, zero aggression and is too often a couple of seconds behind play - just not quite close enough. Lovely lad, dreadful footballer. Sell asap
  9. Completely finished. He's served his purpose in his first 3 years and now he's another liability and needs to be moved on, he's costing us goals and points on a regular basis, get him out asap
  10. They've spent a billion quid to strengthen an already strong squad, it was bound to click for them eventually. It's a 38 game season and if they finish with more points than us then we have no reason to argue about it. They've had a brilliant 4 or 5 months worth of results to balance out their shit start
  11. Rapidly coming to the conclusion that the best chance of being in Europe in 25/26 is by missing out in 24/25. Howe inherited an awful squad and unfortunately, for mainly injury reasons, too many of that squad are playing way too often. It's not a management issue - it's an ability issue throughout the squad. You can only work with the raw materials you've got and we still have so many substandard players in that squad that maintaing progress is always going to be virtually impossible. You simply can't expect to name Longstaff, Almiron, Dubravka, Murphy, Krafth etc so often without them producing their average levels of performance. It's going to take a few more transfer windows until we get the squad into the shape it needs to be in. They're trying their best but their effort alone just isn't good enough, their ability just isn't there and never will be. Time to be ruthless and cut them free 3 or 4 at a time per window. They're millstones
  12. Joelinton reducer in the first 5 mins. First one's free - smash. Fuck
