Title: Fantasy Premier League 2019/20
Post by: Fitzgerald on Tuesday 16 July 2019, 06:16:06 PM
Well it's almost back. Teams getting made up. Who are the must haves? Hidden gems? Etc. Is there a NO league been made?

About the only enjoyment I get from football nowadays. A welcome distraction from the 2 fat slugs

Edit: N-O League code: ibd4ma

My team is based on deciding which out of Sterling and Kane to go without.

I just know that Robertson, Vardy, Salah and Digne are definitely in.

It's as hard as ever to make a squad. Lesson I learned from last year is make sure you have a squad and not just a good 11 and to have way more patience and faith.

I reckon Laporte is a must have. Ederson, Laporte, Van dijk, Alexander Arnold and Aguero are my my must haves.

I think it's best to invest heavy in defence and attack as then there are still good budget options in midfield like Fraser, Zaha, Tielemans to name a few. The only issue then is surely need one of Salah or Sterling in. De Bruyne looks great value at 9.5 as well he will have a big season if he's fit

I'd rather have Sterling. The 2 players I'd most be scared of not having are Salah and Aguero. Both are capable of a hat trick at any time

Almost done with our draft for this season. 8 team league with Togga scoring on Fantrax. Quite happy with how things went (with the 8th pick)...

Bernardo
Alexander Arnold
Eriksen
Rashford
Tielemans
Chilwell
King
Barkley
Duffy
Lanzini
Holebas
McNeil
Adams
Pickford

+ Pepe as I'll be adding him with my waiver priority.

5-3-2 seems the one like

We need to do a Fantrax league on here next season. I've done it for last 4 years with mates and it's addictive as f***.

Draft is the only way to play, ideally with money on the line. The official FPL game is so lame - everyone ends up with largely the same team.

My team still hinges on Kane vs Vardy, although starting to lean towards Kane with Ayoze in midfield to cover Leicester.

Zaha less appealing, Sigurdsson plays for a side who struggled to score in pre-season and the signings of Cutrone/Maupay kind of block Jota/Murray.

Didn't even know there were FF apps with draft options for the Premier League. The NFL FF is so good it completely kills this for me after a couple of weeks.

I've got him.

I'm really torn between Sterling and a p*ss weak midfield or KdB and a stronger couple of options alongside him.

Help!

Guessing Mané won't play the first couple of games? Started chopping and changing too much. Longstaff might be a canny shout though as a £5m. Got Guendouzi and Rodri as my two cheap options at the mo.

Zaha was a great option but all this uncertainty has reduced his appeal. He hasnt played a single minute of Palace's pre-season and now he's p*ssed off.

Is the view therefore that it's not worth saving the cash by having KdB AND Zaha and just going for Sterling and a cheapy then?

Here's my final draft team -- 8 team league with Togga scoring...

-----------Pickford--------------
----TAA------Duffy-------Chilwell
-Eriksen-Bernardo-Tielemans-Lanzini
----Origi----Rashford----King----

Bench: Barkley, McNeil, Holebas, Adams, Stones, Lamela

Got Origi and Lamela in the last two rounds as it looks like they may start this weekend. One will be replaced by Pepe next week. Quite happy with this as long as Eriksen stays in the country.

Travers I think. Seen something that said begovic is 3rd choice as I was gonna have him myself

This is so stressful! Need Salah and Sterling but then can't afford any decent striker.

Will Aguero start most weeks? When is Mahrez back and will he start much?

I think that Mcginn from Villa is a great player but I'm not sure if he will cut it in the Premier league for £5.5 million it might be worth waiting a few weeks to see.

Ederson

Robertson
VDV
Slabhead
Digne

Salah
De Bruyne
Bernardo silva
Perez

Kane
Greenwood

Kane and aubamayeng rotated most weeks with my 1 free transfer for whoever is at home

I reckon greenwood gets quite a lot of pitch time, solskjaer has said as much, a steal at 4.5m. 7/8 top players there who won't need to be changed or messed about with. That's the key getting a settled team as possible so you don't need to spend any points changing players.

KANE KEAN (GREENWOOD)

Doubt Kean starts this weekend like.

Also Robertson is going to break 200 pts so surely a must at 7m. Man City are going to get 19/20 clean sheets too so having 1 from their backline is a must

Robertson and van dijk are both going to get 180-220 points for 6.5/7m. I look it like to get that from a midfielder would cost 10m plus so them 2 are both must haves.

Ederson is going to be on about 180 points at 6.5m, again to get that in midfield would be a fortune so them 3 are the first names on the team sheet for me.

I have a lot of money riding on this so I do a lot of research.

Total disaster of a first week, salvaged by Man Utd with my bench boost

Transferred Sterling out for Salah, then Salah for Mane, as well as Alexander-Arnold for Robertson before the Friday deadline.

Started with Sigurdsson over Martial and now everyone's transferring Martial in so his price will rise. So annoying, they all need to chill

75 with 4 to play. Not too bad.

 Stop it. That’s really really good.

Looking at some of the scores in our league,  I'm only 48th  it's average, i dunno how some get it so spot on.

Some people triple captained Sterling. A bold move, given that Salah was playing at home to Norwich, that paid off.

I’ve plumped for Kane, Aguero & Pepe as my ‘big 3’ players so not the greatest week even though a couple scored given that half of the world has Sterling & Salah. Not panicking with the wildcard yet.
Title: Re: Fantasy Premier League 2019/20
Post by: chopey on Monday 12 August 2019, 02:18:10 PM
I'm full on wildcard, took out my Newcastle players, got in a cheap keeper and 3 subs that are no more than £4.5 million to give an outfield 10 of Man City, Man Utd, Liverpool and Spurs players, I'm hoping to gain extra points using this tactic because we now have an idea of first team starters, before others use their wildcard, injuries can be sorted with weekly transfers.

3 good weeks undone in one afternoon - down from 44k to 200k because of Sterling (captain flop), De Bruyne (refuse to sign) and Zinchenko (no City defensive coverage). At least the decision to spend 4pts on Aguero worked but barely.

Took a 4-point hit on Wilson & Soyuncu for Pukki & Otamendi, with Abraham captain.

So Abraham blanks, Wilson blanks (Bournemouth and Norwich were the only teams without a clean sheet, so obviously it was 0-0) and Aguero is benched again

f***'s sake.

Had 4 Palace / Bournemouth players. Started Zaha / Van Anholt who got 4 points between them as Van Anholt went off injured first half and Zaha got a point for a clean sheet.

Meanwhile there are 12 points sat on my bench - Kelly for the clean sheet and Rico got a clean sheet bonus as he went off before the goal went in.

To be fair Frank was pretty good with updates on him the last couple of days. Sounded like he would play.

Better to just start them and have a sub ready to come on if needed.

Nah it's not though really, when I have other options that I know will play and are in good form. Thought there was a good chance of Abraham only playing around 20 mins or whatever and only getting 1 point.

Our work league has a £300 first prize for every calendar month. I was 4th so thought Vardy v Norwich would be a decent shout.

I’m never anywhere near in the season-long leagues because if I’m nowhere near a prize going into the last week I’ll make 4-5 transfers prepping for the following month. Need to make two teams really.

I’m 4th, 5 points behind first in work’s monthly league. £300 for the winner. Using Free Hit to bring in Bravo for Ederson, Firmino for Abraham, Grealish for Alli and Webster for Tomori.

12 points clear with two Liverpool games to go this month. Everyone in the top 5 has TAA & VVD (I’ve got him as captain). Most of the others have one of Mane or Salah (c). Think I’m going to be pipped. Could do with a boring 1-0 today, Milner penalty or something.

Didn't look too terrible an injury though, and so could be back against West Ham and could certainly tear things up in that game.

Id left Auba and De Bruybe on bench. Was planning on bringing in Ozil and Fernandes...
Got 76 points.

Need KDB to get more than 8 points if he plays (Fernandez first sub and Salah VC). No doubt he will come on in the 90th min and manage to get a yellow card

Lundstrom first sub. I think De Bruyne needs to rest up.

Was quite looking forward to burning this season down and pretending it never existed.

Mad to think the winner of FPL will be determined by who manages the coronavirus outbreak the best.

As someone who is having a bad season, not sure if this uncertainty is a good or bad thing. Those who plan it well will be rewarded.

They're giving everybody zero for GW30 and 31 (or less if you've taken a transfer hit) so a lot of draws in H2H leagues. Also means, if we get back underway, there'll be an awful lot of double game weeks. Could be some massive swings to come (or it'll all get scrapped).

Assuming some had spent points, I'm finally getting a green arrow :)

It's weird though because we still get a transfer for next weekend's inaction. Will we get a humongous GW38, or will they create extra ones at the end?
