  1. Of course everyone says "should" or "shouldn't" based on perceived luck or misfortune. However the reality is that luck doesn't exist. Newcastle "should" have won vs PSG because they weren't lucky to be ahead - they had a game plan, they stuck to it and it "should" have worked because on the day, PSG didn't have enough to break us down. They went out as a result of either a) Cheating or b) Terrible officiating. xG is a pile of wank stat, really, they all are except for goals. They're indicators of how a game has been played and nothing else. Newcastle had what, 23% possession vs Spurs at the weekend and absolutely dicked them 4 - 0.
  2. PSG should have been 1 - 0 down and should not have had a penalty to help them get anything from that fixture because they alone could not score against a resilient, defiant Newcastle United.
  3. Mad how times change. I'm now hoping 2 German teams win the Champions League.
  4. I really hope Dortmund fucking smash these cheating, despicable twats. Fucking lifting.
  5. Lush this. Long may it continue. Would love to be battering teams in the WSL.
  6. Cheers for the tag mate, will give this a watch shortly
  7. Cheers everyone and particularly the above. We've been talking about doing this for a while tbh for the likes of Burn and Longstaff. I like to try and be diplomatic about people's views but personally sitting in the stadium slating lads who are giving it their all is beyond ludicrous for me. You get more flies with sugar than shit. You aren't gonna improve someone's performance who is giving 100% and their confidence is shattered by groaning, whining and calling for their substitution. It's fucking mental. We've pulled displays because of suspensions etc. That have been celebrating players whom are somewhat more celebrated (generally) because it didn't make sense anymore and we've also noticed players who have been scapegoated. The clue is in the title for me - "supporters". You help people through the tough spells and give them support. They in turn will get through the tough times and you'll all come out of it the other side feeling better for it. Any improvement required on any of these players, is with the club and the powers that be to replace them one way or the other. Not the players themselves. Therefore as supporters it's upto us to ensure mentally there in a place of comfort to perform.
  8. We've received very positive feedback from Dan Burn, Sean Longstaff and Eddie Howe either via Twitter or other sources and it really seems like this display has had the desired effect, especially given the score. Love to see it, an almost perfect day.

Nee pleasing some folk like. Decide they don't like a player and cannot give credit where it's due. Give owa.
  10. Separately... Saturday may well be one of my favourite ever displays, not for creativity but for content.
