Tbf my eyes tell me an awful lot of what’s being said there. I’d rather trust my eyes than someone else’s interpretation of a good chance. I agree over a large period it might be useful but in individual games it’s got to be about the context of the game? I’m assuming Xg doesn’t make any adjustments for bogey sides or he always scores against xxx? Mad though it is, in individual games it’s a thing. Anyway, I felt we were relatively comfortable against an increasingly frustrated PSG. On a lighter note whatever Werner’s XG is, it should be lower.

I honestly don’t remember many clear cut chances, they undoubtedly had all of the possession and got themselves in great positions, I just didn’t feel they were going to score and we had our game plan spot on. Their XG was also massively boosted by that ridiculous penalty. That might be rose tinted but I’ve felt far more nervous in other games. Against Arsenal we looked like we had no plan and they created really good chances. XG is bollocks imo btw, it’s really all about context. I’ve little doubt if PSG had scored 20 mins earlier that we’d have lost and deservedly so, probably by a couple of goals.

I can’t remember many, if any, great chances that PSG had, especially in the 2nd half (we missed a great chance at nil nil). They were shooting from distance and we were relatively comfortable. That xg had to be largely down to the number of “tickets” they’d bought. Anyway, come on Dortmund.

Dortmund did us away but, we really should have won at home, Wilson sitter and bar x2, they even took a photo of the bar. As for PSG away, well, no words and then we got caught out going for it against Milan. Having said all that, we’d have struggled with injuries had we got through (so I’ve convinced myself).

If he goes I think that’d be us needing to sell for FFP should a huge offer come in. He’s got a young family, knows he’s loved and has a genuine relationship with the players and management. I can’t see him pushing for a move. My tip off about Big Jo signing his extension came via Bruno (I’ve a non football, very occasional, but cast iron link). I’m told Bruno seemed made up about Jo ‘s contract so it’d be a bit of surprise if he then pushed for a move himself.

We’ve no chance of getting near Spurs or Villa but we’ve dropped some awful points along the way. That said, given our injuries we were always going to have some shockers.
