About Iwantcurlyhair2

  1. I'd agree that a player with more than 100 appearances, who had to pay to play in black and white when Ashley was in charge, deserves the UPMOST RESPECT from everyone associated with NUFC. If it proves that the Championship is a level too far then so be it, but her performances this season, at this level, are proven to be well within her capabilities. Please stop shaming the lasses. They've lost 3 games this season. Away to Man U in the FA Cup, home to forest in the league and in the final. They don't deserve the criticism.
  2. Official. BonesJones is a misogynist body shamer. Grace has conceded fewer goals and kept more clean sheets than any other goalkeeper in the league. She has the record appearances for NUFC women. I know nothing about you but please don't ever have children
  3. Still can't quite get my head round how they played yesterday. Everyone had a sub par performance but some of the uneducated, sweeping statements I have read online are disgraceful. I agree with OpenC that Grace Donnelly deserves Langley's faith and support rather than the abuse that she has had since the match yesterday. Disappointingly the abuse the team has had online, some of it very personal, shows how our fanbase has changed this season. The "We don't demand a team that wins" motto has long been forgotten. I've stopped reading social media after the men don't win and last night I had to do the same with the lasses. I thought we, as a fan base, were better than this.
  4. Just got home. Rally gutted for the lasses. Typical Newcastle having their worst performance of the season in a cup final. Fingers crossed Burnley and Forest lose tomorrow and a win against Liverpool Feds next week will secure the league. Onwards and upwards, but gutted for them today. Effort was there but uncharacteristic sloppy passing and control let them down.
  5. Hope to see Boddy for Gibson & Bailey Gayle for Galloway. Too hesitant. Play a bit faster and go for them. Ref not helping. Whistle happy
  6. The main stand blends in tremendously with the town
  7. Lots of black and white at Tibshelf services.
  8. I disagree with this opinion more now than at the start of the season. Becky Langley is in her 20's and this is her first managerial post. She has developed massively and surrounded herself with experience and I have no thought that she will not see us through the next few years of progress. Grace Donnelly is producing displays that I, prior to this season, didn't think was possible and is keeping an international keeper out of the side. Olivia Watt has developed into a tremendous right sided defender and is improving continuously. Charlotte Potts could play in the WSL now, I'm convinced of it. Georgia Gibson continues to score massive goals and is, I think, our top all time scorer. (I might be wrong) Katie Barker just improves game on game and will definitely push on in the championship. Jaz McQuade highlights how good our development squad and that Becky has got a route for girls to push through to the first team. Kacie, Anna, Sharna etc,etc will also continue their development. Everyone they've bought in the last 12 months have championship and WSL experience. I believe saying that most of the lasses are more than likely in their final chapter with Newcastle is wrong and undermining the sterling work that the staff have carried out. Moving to full time has transformed the players and they will continually develop and move forward. It may take 2-3 years to get out of the championship and if it does so be it. I'll be there and will cheer even more for the Katies, Olivias and Charlottes as there get to the promised land.
  9. 3 home grown players with the goals. I love this team. Missed the goals with jobs but there for the next 4 games. Can wait. Cup win and promotion. Love it
  10. Missed most of it with work but tremendous come back. Charlotte Potts header to win it from an injury time corner
  11. I have it all planned out. I've taken holidays for the Liverpool feds game incase forest and Burnley lose points, another holiday for the Huddersfield game incase nobody loses points and a holiday for the Halifax game incase we lose points. That should be all options covered.
  12. We currently pay £5 each on the door and I think it was £45 for a season ticket for 11 games. I have no other interests other than NUFC but currently pay for everyone from the family who goes and also for 3 season tickets for the men. If it went up to £20 a ticket for the women's I would pay for it no issue but the numbers would drop as I couldn't afford to pay for an additional 5 or 6. I think a lot of the families are like that. I think the prices may go up to £10 a game from next season. Forget the second thoughts about attending, its a race to see what comes first - Premier league or WSL. Both will happen in the next 10 years, but which one first. Enjoy the ride
  13. We went to the Alnwick match and have only missed 4 home games since and loved every moment. Only been to the Burnley away game but thee lasses have become a real family do. I've 3 daughters, adults, and their families are starting to come to the games with us. It is a real family feel to supporting them and has been unbelievable progress. 6 of the starting line up were promoted last season and the job Becky has done at 28 years old is phenomenal. I'm sure there will be further changes this summer but the fact the original lasses have upped their game year on year shows what the coaching and development is like.
  14. If 2 years ago someone said I'd be spending a Sunday afternoon refreshing twitter to keep up to date with a women's football match I'd have said they were mad, but I'm loving every step of the journey. Howay the lasses
