Yep. Dortmund home game, a massive part of their (very effective) gameplan was 'shut Trippier down'. Man Utd was one of his, if not the, best performances in a Newcastle shirt.
Being annoyed by people being unduly harsh on the team is totally routine, and I'm sure you've experienced that emotion yourself this season; I was only explaining why I felt the conversation was worth having when you said we'd done it to death (so there was no need for the snark!)
Happy to agree to disagree on the decision; no one will ever convince me that the offside law in the age of VAR isn't absolute bullshit.
It was correct in that an arrangement of pixels showed a person's shoulder to be on the 'wrong' part of a screen, but that's as much as I'm prepared to concede. It was a perfectly good goal in any real terms and it's annoying that anyone would grief the team before rolling their eyes at that obscenely fussy decision.
I'd be up for us adopting an 'official' away kit which is dark red and blue hoops (in the way that we have an official home kit which is black and white stripes). But that's not how it works, so it's relegated to simply being nostalgia bait.
