More likely to get Pepe/Pires type players for around the £6m mark. Can't see us going daft on players.

Is he similar to Wijnaldum in style of play as well? What position does he usually play? The best comparison to a recent player would be Cabaye. Can pick a pass and dictate play, it doesn't help that he's been surrounded by absolute dross all year but he definitely has a tendency to go missing. Not a bad player but I can't see him doing any more than make up the numbers - hopefully I'm wrong.

Watch a fair bit of Spanish football as I live there 6 months of the year. Pires. Yeah. Not really what we should be looking for. Frustrating as hell to watch. Clearly has a bit of talent but I see huge parallels with him and Wijnaldum in that they tend to go on the missing list.
