    Keegan Talk In

Superb post. Ashley and Llambias seem to have persuaded a lot of people that any NUFC fan who hopes for anything above mediocrity is some sort of fantasist. Recent history tells us that does not have to be the case.
  2. Suprised noones got Stuart Pearce in at left back, past his best when he played for us but still quality. Id have him in for his leadership as much as anything. Surely better than Bernard, especially with the lack of defending Ginola/Robert did.
  3. Ill donate like, but they should have a Bobby tribute match with proceeds going to the charity. They could pack out St James if they charged £20 quid, and theres 500k twice over. Give us a chance to show the man what we think of him too.

    Mark Hughes

    Kevin Gallacher? Class for us.
  5. Please give it to Alan. we're not like other clubs, we need a personality and someone to create a buzz about the place, and Shearer would undoubtedly do that. he'd already have won half the battle without doing owt. He'd get time, have everyone behind him and the players would have to perform. He clearly understands the game and is as safe bet as anyone to be a good manager. If hes willing to take this job on and risk everything he's achieved he clearly still has a massive amount of hunger and drive to succeed. Failing us attracting top top (and therefore foreign) manager, id take Shearer over any realistic contender. 'Arry Redknapp FFS.

    NEXUS

Well thats what struck me- it is going to be lit up red and white, then some white bits!!! I don't think that I'm being a drama queen,I just think that huge edifice,in mackem colours in our city is wrong. And no I don't want to 'big' about it,you can't take the moral high ground where football is concerned. Certainly not if you jump about like a loon when your team score or you sing daft songs or bay for the refs blood etc etc.Thats what football is about. O.K. it might just be my opinion but I don't want to drive over a bridge decked out in mackem colours (in Newcastle) at any time, but especially not in derby week. There again if you don't live here why give a sh1t Haha spot on!

    Alan Smith

Change seats, it's only £30 for Milburn level 7. good point. or I could get even better value by going down the park on a sunday morning for nowt.

    Alan Smith

I really do resent paying £35 to watch Alan Smith play football.
  9. I laughed out loud! Jesus Chrst. Im by no means one of those that cant wait to get on their high horse at the first opportunity, but thats bang out of order. Good luck Bob.
  10. Smith, I had my doubts when we signed him but decided to give him a chance.... but jesus christ, everything I thought about him is being reinforced, and then some.
  11. Which is fair enough. Why the fuk should the club pay silly amounts for crap talents such as Luque and Boumsong while our own youth players who are of better quality get peanuts in comparison? His father has hit the nail on the head, probably too well, he couldn't of picked two players in which to make an example of better than what he has. It will all be sorted in a few weeks and we'll have him, Milner & Zoggy tied down for the next 5 years. Add Martins to that (fingers crossed) and we've got a good core of youth to take us into the future. What bollocks. So we should pay every half decent player 50 grand a week just because Luque and Boumsong got paid more and they were shite? They were unmitigated failures, using them as a benchmark is ridiculous.
  12. Its not just this though, theres been numerous signs the lads been getting a bit big for his boots. Ive heard from quite a few people he's getting called 'hollywood' by the other players and people at the club - obviously this could be bollocks but ive heard it from that many people that dont know each other that im inclined to believe their might be some truth in it. However I did get told in person by pretty someone close to the club that Taylor was a unbelievably arrogant tosser (off the mic) when being interviewed, and he said it was a shame he could not have conducted himself more like peter ramage, a poor footballer but a nice, polite lad, he said. Also Allardyce's comments after he was called up to the England squad were pretty strong, and went far beyond the usual comments about players keeping their feet on the ground after a international call up - all the stuff about michael ricketts and stating the fact he wouldn't improve if he didn't listen again suggests the gaffers concerned about his ego. I also don't think theres any questioning the fact that he's over-rated because he's local. I like Taylor as a player, and think hes got bags of potential, but he's got a long way to go. Milners the same age but a far more accomplished premiership player imo, and the criticism he gets astounds me. If hed been raised in Newcastle im positive the general consensus would say he's the next Chris Waddle. The last quote of the article, “Yet I do not see this being a problem at Liverpool with Steven Gerrard and Jamie Carragher” (about clubs exploiting local players loyalty to pay them less money) is also very worrying. We're talking about two established internationals that are a succesful, regular champions leauge clubs two most influential and consistent players - the fact his Dads comparing his lad to them is frightning.
  13. what a dick. he would appear he thinks he's better than he is, which is a shame as it could hamper his development.
  14. Seen us win at Old Trafford against Spurs in the semi, in Feyenoord (3-2) at Spurs (1-0 90th minute Jenas winner) Barnsley (1-0 in leauge cup) Charlton (2-0) the mackems twice (nobby and dabizas games) Draw at leicester (2-2) and Chelsea (when Acuna scored) And losses at Liverpool (4 times) Everton (when Grveson snapped bernard) Bolton twice, West Ham, Fulham (at loftus road) Man U at Cardiff, Chelsea at Wembley, Villa twice (bobbys last game and obas debut) Boro, (the one posponed cos of the 'snow') and probably a few more im forgetting Not a great record but I think I used up my quota of good luck at Feyenoord - my best mate had to persuade me to go for ages because we'd lost the first 3 games!
