  1. I have a minor theory about defenders who go out of their way to start fights that they want to piss off the other team so much that they will go out of their way to try and nutmeg or beat them directly thus magnetically drawing strikers to them to get tackled and fail to take the more direct easy way to score. Or just maybe believe that a) their performance benefits from playing at all times furious, or b) regardless of daft reasons like above if the opposition are scared of how angry you are they wont play well near you. Which in retrospect the intimidation thing it definitely is but i can't really imagine premier league footballers get that intimidated by other premier league footballers? Maybe playing a lower league club in fa cup players will think may get injured by crazy tackles etc...
  2. It will grow, but i dunno if it can 'rocket'. We will definitely get there but we'll still be unable to afford players on man u wages for a few seasons yet.
  3. Kind of see Joe committing as a good sign too, though has to be said he has a release clause that's decent chunk but may be entirely Bruno's call on it, intentions of the club make little difference. I do think if real madrid pay the release clause he'll see it as possibly his only chance so hard to turn down. More likely they will try and unsettle in and get him for half it though and we can stand firm on that.
  4. Long term investment, pretty easy one too considering the value of it will go up and up with the saudi investment. Equally they are in property business in newcastle, if PIF want to invest in city, who are they going to do business with from now on whom knows the area has contacts and already has lots of property? Got to be one of the easiest decisions to invest they could possibly get
  5. Humanity as a whole I'd say. Is there a single man woman or child who doesnt cry at teh thought of klopp leaving liverpool without winning this seasons league title
  6. we're so much worse away from home tbh. I am not clinging onto much hope of catching up a 10 point gap. Would be very spursy of course
  7. He's brilliant, but Rice Foden and Bellingham and Saka are all genuinely brilliant so think maybe a stretch. Deffo would be great in england squad tho
  8. Aye every time I see him looks great
  9. It didn't even feel like they had the ball more than us, I realised we were playing for the counter but they didn't seem to be able to string more passes together than us. I don't really think possession stats work in games like this felt more like neither team ever 'retained' possession it was more battle of press. In reality when they had the ball we pressed them into giving it up and then we didn't waste any time and got the ball to the front 3 as quick as we could (and not in some hoofball manner either).
  10. Astonished by his cutting edge, while he clearly did a lot right at everton i was worried he wasn't going to consistently score or assist and instead get praised for running a lot. He looks like he's had a few seasons to mature on the continent and come back new player in mid career not just half a season acclimatizing
  11. Bruno really trying for that yellow card at the end there lol take a bow!
