Had a look back through the thread and looks like £58m+£5m. Was unsure of his physicality when signing as seemed very slight but he’s great when fit. Still 3 areas of his game he needs to work on but could end up being a complete striker.

Would be a little surprised if he leaves Palace. Has a very strong bond there. Maybe after a pay rise.

Was that not with all the add-ons? (£63m). Always thought we paid a more modest £53m for him.

Need to remember the snippets we pick up and think of the big picture behind the scenes amongst the squad. Was quite telling a few players let slip Hall was always last to training. As the latest recruit that sends out bad signals and not a good look. Was he late? No. Was he pushing as hard as he could to get ahead of his competition? No. Meanwhile I’ve noticed a physical change and confidence in him looking more comfortable on and off the pitch from his first fleeting appearances compared to his latest. The body language in the match cams and photos etc he’s starting to look settled in the group. To me it looks like EH has got this one right as he tends to do.

The Arsenal penalty is a disgrace. The very incident VAR was brought in to clear up yet they fail to revert referees decision. Makes a mockery of VAR.

Pope in the squad today?

Sandro Tonali: given suspended two-month ban by FA (Official)

Noted the club haven’t ruled him out of playing in Australia. EH asked in today’s press conference. -
Nope because I don’t think it’s anywhere near 20% so the extra 10% is just standing around arguing with refs and waiting around on VAR calls. I do think players not having full summers off isn’t helping as I’m not going to argue that they play too many matches each year. Just disagree the actual games are intense for 10-20% more and like I’ve said you can sub half an outfield team each game nowadays. Maybe it’s the long VAR delays and stop start nature of the games not helping 🤷🏼♂️

The rule is still in place obviously but they aren’t sticking to it anymore most games. Don’t give me player health when you can have so many options on the bench and five substitutes generally being made per team each game. It’s just a more physical and faster game in England. Always has been. It’s quite striking how much so if you ever attend games abroad. Watched games in many European countries and most of them are like walking pace for the majority of the games with minimal contact allowed.

Strange strip selection in the Villa game. Can hardly tell the difference between the two teams.
