  1. Admittedly I've only watched him the once this season, against us, but he looked like an absolutely fucking dreadful football player who Looked totally out of his depth alongside Premier League opposition. Only Pritchard looked half decent for them and they sold him for £100k.
  2. I'd be tempted to go back to the olden days (pre 1993) and have behind both goals (safe) standing and seats along the side. Milburn paddocks can stay as all seated.
  3. There was mate. Me and the wife. Bairn sat just begind us. Wish I'd known it was you. Would have said hello!
  4. You weren't sat in the front row of the stand were you? We went into the 2nd row when it started pissing down and noticed 2 lads in front of us who shifted during the 2nd half. Ritchie Slaughter kicked the Shields lad when he was on the ground. Crazy thing to do and a deserved red card. It was actually a Stan free kick as well which made his reaction all the more bizarre. Can't park inside the ground unfortunately. That's for players, officials and people who pay for a pass. You can park on the street that leads up to it from Sainsburys. There's some parking set back off the road but it usually gets taken quickly.
  5. Action packed game at Heaton Stan yesterday. 2 goals and a sending off in the first 10 mins set the tone! Spoilt quite a bit by the wind and then we had a huge downpour just after HT but a good day and a good match to watch nonetheless Shields looking really poor these days mind. Seemed to be a mixture of young kids and a couple of lads right at the end of their careers. The number 4 who played CM looked canny but other than that they don't have much else. Stan up to 4th now. 5 points being 3rd with 4 games in hand.
  6. They are first class mate. They really are. I remember over the winter they were opening up the clubhouse on non matchdays and people who were struggling could go along for a warm, watch a bit TV with some company to chat to and they'd put some free bait on for them as well. During COVID they'd be sending round their volunteers to the elderly or those who couldn't get out and getting shopping amd vital supplies in for them. Like you say nothing ever too much trouble. They don't blow their own trumpet so a lot of what they do goes unnoticed which I like but that club deserves every success that comes its way for what they do.
  7. Agree it's not as bad as cracked up to be. Find a decent seat halfway up the main stand and it's fine tbh.
  8. Talk of a new 7,000 capacity stadium here, from a few years ago. If they ever made it back to the Football League surely they couldn't stay where they are. https://footballgroundguide.com/leagues/conference/conference-north/gateshead-international-stadium.html
  9. No. The good people of Gateshead seemed to either be capable to find a bin to dispose of their rubbish, or failing that must have taken it home with them.
  10. I can testify for this after being there on Saturday. Never known owt like it! Funny thing was we walked back into town afterwards and the wind wasn't even that bad then! The place must just act like a wind tunnel.
  11. Whilst we've already seen that KLD would hand over their stadium to us in a shot for a price, the outrage and backlash from them would be off the scale. I mean imagine the embarrassment when their own stadium is sold out for every NUFC match, yet there's 1000s of empty seats when they are playing there! They couldn't handle it.
  12. I love watching Heaton Stan. The crowd is class, everyone really friendly amd the volunteers that run it are all spot on as well. I get greeted by my first name at the turnstile and they even follow me on Twitter! Maybe doesn't seem like much but I love that sort of personal touch as opposed to being treated like a customer higher up the pyramid. It's been fascinating watching the club grow over the years, from a decent Northern Alliance outfit to one of the top Northern League clubs, averaging over 400 fans a game and you see the money they make from that being pumped straight back in and improving all aspects of the club (unlike what happens at tomorrow's opponents). Should make the Play Offs this season but I wouldn't be too arsed about them going up just yet. Wouldn't mind just one more season in the NL and to have a right good go at the Vase. Seeing them play at Wembley would be something else!
  13. You'll be fine parking at Sainsburys then
  14. He should be fine if he watches the Toon game first as he won't get there till around 2.45. As long as he doesn't hang round for an hour or more after full time, but aye worth pointing out.
  15. I'll be at this one as well! Parking is limited tbh. Most the streets around the ground are permit only on account of it being near to the Freeman so watch you don't get caught out.. There are some streets a little bit further away where you can park. If you're not familiar with the area you could always park at Sainsburys and it's about a 6/7 minute walk from there.
