Miguel Almirón

I am excited about Almiron but a bit concerned everyone is expecting the world from him straight away. He's barely played for a month and is new to the league. He may take time.

It would be nice to have a specialist free kick taker in the team. We haven't had one since Robert.

Ryan Taylor? Cabaye? Emre? We've had Nobby again since Robert too although can't remember him scoring many freekicks on his return

Can't really remember Ryan Taylor being very good at them. He came in with a big reputation for it but he never really seemed to threaten with them.

Even the one he scored was an overhit cross.

Yeah Cabaye is the only specialist since Robert I'd say. Gayle, Shelvey and Atsu all scored one in the Championship season, not sure if there were any others. Don't think there was one last season*, or this (although Rondon did smack one against the bar against Wolves).

I still wouldn't call Cabaye a free kick specialist if he has only scored 5 goals from them maybe closer to 20 goals is a better reflection of such abilities.

We need to get Juninho Freekickandinho out of retirement and sign him, he was pretty crap at everything except taking insane freekicks in the French league, if I recall correctly.

He only got two, didn't he? Cross-shot at the Mackems and one that squirmed in against Atromitos. He could only really score em against Given.

Gayle's was v Reading, a sweet thunderbastard from about 30 yards

Shelvey's I think was against either Brighton or Huddersfield

I can't remember what's going in work on a day-to-day basis without getting my mind jogged but for some reason I can remember this shit no problem, I fucking hate my brain.

Can only remember the Sunderland one but Emre was a cracking player on his day, like. Close control, pace, tenacity - would love someone like him in the set up now. Just couldn't play with Parker and couldn't stay fit. Plus he was, you know, a racist.
