  1. Listening to something today which suggested that FFP penalties will be fines and not points deductions from next season. Anyone else heard that? If so it will be an absolute joke for the mega rich top clubs and they might as well scrap it.
  2. I do hate it when people say that the government pays for stuff. It's the tax payers that are paying for it, the government are just signing the cheques. I realise it's just shorthand for what I've said but it still narks me somewhat that some people are actually thinking it's the government's money. Maybe nobody does!
  3. I must've missed that, still a slap on the wrist at most.
  4. Finding it amusing how quickly ten Hag is trying to brush this under the carpet, there's no word about punishments or consequences even, only that's its an internal matter and the case is closed, he has ... accepted responsibility for his actions. Yeah right Erik everything points to these players basically having no respect for you and the club but as you say, the case is closed, he's accepted responsibility so everything is fine.
  5. You'd think Pep/ Man City's due diligence would be better than that, to sign a player for that much and not know about any technical limitations. Didn't read the full article as I don't have a subscription.
  6. Injury to Salah more serious than we thought, oh dear he'll miss the rest of Afcon and be fully fit for Liverpool when it finishes. So predictable. https://www.theguardian.com/football/2024/jan/22/mohamed-salahs-injury-more-serious-that-first-thought-says-players-agent
  7. No I made an anti Man City post a couple of weeks back and was rightly put in my place
  8. There’s absolutely no way Arsenal lose this, I’m going on the record!
  9. Was apparently only on loan there from Villa
  10. Always find it hilarious when Pep mentiones how much spirit his team has, what battling qualities they show. Like they're a normal team. They're far and away the best team in Europe if not the world. The have the most expensively assembled squad, the best coach and unlimited resources. Reversing a 0-2 scoreline against relative minnows should be business as usual. The notable thing is them being 2 down to begin with. I guess he's just reframing the narrative and thinks we're all idiots (or at least their fans) like most top team coaches.
  11. How accurate do we think this is? https://www.spotrac.com/epl/newcastle-united-fc/payroll/
