Marcus Maddison has done very well for Peterborough this season - hope the Heed have a sell-on clause.

 You asked that before on the same page as the first time

Marcus Maddison scores another cracker for Peterborough. Hope the Heed have arranged a decent sell-on fee.

Fwiw

Looks like they've done well out of it.

Gateshead forward Marcus Maddison has signed for League One club Peterborough United on a permanent deal.

The 20-year-old leaves the International Stadium for a club record fee, and the sizeable six-figure sum is likely to rise due to various add ons.

The Heed also have a 20% sell-on clause for Maddison, who has agreed a four-year contract with The Posh.

Forest Green have been the richest in that division for a while now and never really threatened the top six much at all.

Hockaday was supposed to have done really well there, but in reality he had a massive budget for that level and kind of underdelivered with it.

Disappointing they've got rid of their snide Barça badge.

Lost it? Nah, he picks his team based on who the opposition is. Fact is, Campbell is very average. We signed Gooch in loan from Sunderland who is a much better player.

Sad that he is not good enough for the Conference.

I wouldn't say he's not good enough for the league, he just doesn't look better than anything else we've got at the moment.

Still pretty damning. Can't see the Heed making the playoffs this season unfortunately.

From his point of view they have a bigger fanbase, easier to attract players to (reputation, further south), better ground & it looks better on his CV to advance his career (Manager of recent ex-league club Wrexham Vs Manager of little Gateshead).

From our point of view it feels like a boot in the teeth, especially his unnecessary comments to the local Wrexham newspaper yesterday. If it goes wrong for him down there (unlikely), it'll now be very hard to comeback to us with any respect from the fans, players & I'd imagine the Chairman.

As for the 70 or so who applied after Smith hoisted the white flag, the majority were dross who apply for anything and everything gong, and the few ok candidates are now employed elsewhere.
