We were poor last night, and certainly looked like a team that hadn't played in 3 weeks. But at 2-1 up with 10 minutes to go, the referee took over awarded them a dodgy penalty and sent off Kris Gate.

Still, the Wembley dream lives on, just...

After our awful start to the New Year, Bogie has loaned a couple of your reserve players:

Gateshead have today completed the double signing of young Newcastle United pair James Tavernier and Joan Simun Edmundsson on an initial 28 day loan.

Yorkshireman Tavernier is a 19-year-old right back or central defender while Edmundsson, also 19, is a full Faroe Islands international.

Both will make their Blue Square Bet Premier debut at home to Kidderminster Harriers on Saturday alongside Sunderland loanee Michael Liddle.

Are they any good? We need something to rescue us at the minute.

Cheers for them btw, first loan since Harper last time we were a Conference club.

I like Tavernier, been good whenever I've seen him so he should do a good job for ya, it'll be good for him to get some game time as well. I've not seen as much of Edmundsson but he's rated fairly well, should hopefully be able to bag a few goals for ya, although I'm sure someone else could let you know more about him.

A shameless plug whilst you're all in a good mood...

The FA Cup proper starts next Saturday with the 1st Round seeing Gateshead away at Notts County.

If anyone fancies coming, Gateshead Supporters Club are running buses to the match, leaving from Gateshead Civic Centre at 9:30am - www.GatesheadFCSupportersClub.org.uk

If Notts County have already beaten the region's second club they shouldn't have too much bother beating that rabble down the road tomorrow.

Guest Roger Kint

Love it if we actively supported gateshead by loaning our good youth players to them at every opportunity.

Good luck to them two and Gateshead

This definately. Good chance for two young lads to play regular competitive football which isnt too far from League 2 standard overall(aside from the top few teams) and hopefully help them progress via loans up to a level to benefit us.
