  1. That's why they're addicts, most of them are beyond reason and logic.
  2. Yep. No one is going to pay good money for someone who will be 34 next season. The upside is, even if we don't get £12m or so, he is still at least a fabulous footballer so we will still have a very good player for next season. To a lesser degree it's the same for Callum Wilson. Wilson is more injury prone so I think most would be far happier to see him sold.

I thought the same thing tbh, seems far too good already to not be an asset in our squad. Especially considering the sort of has-beens from the championship who will still probably be hanging around.
  4. "Close to signing" when it can't officially be sealed until June seems premature to me like. Especially if there is other clubs still sniffing and the player's representative hasn't ruled them out.
  5. Think it was just too early for a thread tbh. Obviously we are leading the chase, but that's not stopping other clubs coming in and stealing the deal before June.

    Alexander Isak

Arsenal obviously would like him, they are using their mouthpiece media to try to unsettle him. Part of their long game of knocking the price down well before the bid actually comes in Sir Jim Ratshit-style.
  7. This is the ideal signing tbh, especially given the PSR situation. If it comes off it just shows how good our team is these days without Garden Man Dan.
  8. Honestly, the vibes I'm getting so far is a slimline bearded version of Mike Ashley. Comes across as really tight if the derisory offer of £2m for Ashworth is to believed, and so far the main talk from Manchester is about selling not buying players.
  9. So far they seem to be going the other way, offering stupid money to our rivals for players ready for the knackers yard. I expect they'll already be bombarding the bemused Liverpool hierarchy with unofficial £100m bids for Salah.

Agree tbh. I just don't think there's any way we can get the stadium we need without moving given the building restrictions in surrounding areas. While it's been fantastic having the ground smack bang in the city centre for so long, if it's going to stop us building a stadium which will be able to match the cartel clubs income wise, then I'd rather move.
  11. Eddie seemed very keen on him at the time so I still think there might be a player in there. I was pretty disappointed when it didn't happen, but couldn't have turned out much better in hindsight with Isak arriving eventually instead.
  12. I think the British courts bailed them out during the Hicks and Gillett ownership fiascoas well, Liverpool is too much of an institution to be allowed to go to the dogs.
  13. I questioned it at the time because I thought £12m for a player who would be 34 in the summer was too good to turn down. I still think he's a fantastic player though, I just know we'll never get that money again, and I think sentiment will affect our spending in the next couple of windows. Ideally we wouldn't need to sell anyone, we could just invest in our club how we see fit. That way players like Trippier, Longstaff and Miggy could be seen as squad assets instead of a drag on our resources.
  14. As long as they can get ahead far enough not to be threatened beyond the odd season or two of freak results, I doubt they'll lose any sleep over it. Just seems like a token pretence of fair play without actually roping the cartel clubs in any meaningful way.
  15. He won't be accepted any more than Moyes has been accepted by West Ham fans. That sort of football has a ceiling, and it's not particularly good to watch.
