I always enjoy the big match revisited. There's a few on BT sport from 2.30 this afternoon. Circa 1976 like so I'll not remember any of it as I attended my 1st match that very year.  NUFC 2-1 West Ham FWIW. BBC Scotland (virgin 162) showing old Scottish cup finals. I think it's Hearts v Hibs tonight at 7pm.

How did Kane not square that man?! Forgot how bad it was! The rebound was a sitter too!

you don't want any centre forward squaring it in that situation. the pass then the finish could go wrong (chopra eg). any decent striker should score from there mind.

Only just got around to watching 'Diego Maradona'. Absolutely brilliant. Love seeing old footage, especially simple things like him in personal training, stuff we probably wouldn't ordinarily see.

His life in Naples must have been crazy from the moment he stepped off the plane.

I think he's my favourite player of all time.

It’s brilliant - loved it - thought I was.quite clued up on wor Diego but this added a few extra details to my memory bank - shame they turned on him after 1990

Watched one the other day it was forest against west brom from the late 70's early 80's.  FA cup quarter final and Clough assistant peter taylor wasn't at the match because he was in holiday in majorca    what the fuck

I have a few favourite players, Van Basten and Platini were probably as good as I can remember, but I never saw anything like Maradona in his prime. Outrageously talented, and delivered in the biggest games.

Thanks for the heads up, I will watch that this week.

They way they turned on him after 1990 was ridiculous. He was playing for his country FFS. What's he meant to do, miss on purpose?

I thought the way they framed that was strange.  Fair enough if that's really the reason he was turned on, however it seemed to me his main crime was trying to convince Napoli fans to support Argentina in the run-up to the match

I made the mistake of going to see the Maradona documentary the day Rafa left us.

Watched it again a couple of weeks ago and it really is fantastic. Naples looks an absolutely mad place

Yeah didn’t understand that - especially from the city of Napoli - let’s just forget what he did in the previous 5 years or so for you - you were a nothing club before he arrived

Thought Ciro Ferrara came out of it well - really liked him when he was at Juve

The treatment Maradona received from opposition players was unbelievable, like. The brawl against Bilbao that effectively ended his Barca spell was something else. I can't remember seeing it before watching the doc.

Bilbao seemed to be the worst - didn’t one of their players butcher him in a different match also?

Is Maradona on prime?

Was on Channel 4 so I assume it’s on their player.

Cheers Mara, will check it out

Aye, Goikoetxea, the butcher of Bilbao, ruined his ankle. Seems like they then spent the whole of the Copa del Rey final cutting him in half until he flipped.

Robert Lyle Football fans under the skin.About Racism affecting fans.

Leicester fan from the 70's mentions NUFC and my heart sinks......he goes on to say it was at Filbert street, he's Asian and a local has a go at him....NUFC fan defends him in the Leicester end and keeps him safe. Now our reputation with racism in the 70's and beyond was shite but I felt a little pride at the story.

Watched it, absolutely superb, what a player he was. Crazy bastard too. Napoli fans are mad and what an era of football that must have been for them.
