Leeds (h)

Everton (a)

Southampton (h)

I dont see us picking much in that run.

Course we will, we'll do as we usually do. A result like this happens, someone says dig out the relegationometer, we 'react' with some a run of passable results and maybe a good win, and it's like "lol better than Rafa haha kill iz", then we get twatted again. Rinse and repeat. We're certainly not getting into the top half and we're certainly not getting relegated. On and on and on and on we go under this regime.

Meaningless week after meaningless month after meaningless year. Baffles me how many folk still feel a thing.

I know chances are we'll Bruce a few points from nowhere, but I wouldn't be so sure about the bit in bold. Just 9/2 to go down, and IF we do lose to Fulham on Saturday then we'll be right in the mix IMO, especially with the following 3 fixtures to come. I can see us getting sucked in to it soon.

I never understand posts like these, "our 13 next games feature teams in the same league we play in?!?!?!, how can we ever get points from teams in the same league we play in?!

Newcastle in their 4th year back in the Premier League, Leeds first season back after 16 years.

Leeds have spent a bit in the summer, but then Bruce has had his fair share over the past 18 months as well.

Both on 17 points, but we have a game in hand, so technically in a better position.

Newcastle 9/2 to go down, Leeds a massive 22/1. Their squad can't be that much better than ours, and if it is, there should be serious question asked as to why, so I think we kind of know the main reasons why there is such a contrast in those odds, and what is causing money, or expected money, to be placed on the respective markets.

Brilliant post.

We'll easily get 12+ points from those matches, and nobody will understand how (rightly so), as per usual.

We'll pick up just enough to stay above the relegation zone, well away from Europe and enough to ensure morons can bang on about what a great job Bruce has done. We'll beat one of the good sides as well so Bruce can live off that for a year. Basically the next 5 seasons will be the same.

After 13 games. We are 21 points combined better off over last 4 Premier League seasons. 5.25 points better off so far than usual. Tough run now, 4 points from Sheff United, Arsenal will Villa to play would keep us okay. Need takeover, no relegation.

I think we've peaked, watching the standard of games over the weekend, we are rubbish, our only real hope is an 8 man defence and hope Wilson scores, unfortunately Wilson will not play a full season

We look worse every time we play. The fact we got points early in the season has little relevance as we were actually somehow playing a bit better then. I reckon it’s gonna be another 7-8 games before we pick up another win.

We're too impossible to predict. For all we know we could turn up next game as prime Brazil 1970s and smash it. We've always been like this! Liverpool won 6-1 in the League Cup in 2015 vs Southampton I think and we beat them a few days later under McClaren. Freak result but that's just Newcastle, a freak club in all that it does. Next league game after Brentford is Man City I think so who knows

Absolutely. We've been statistically second best in every game this season and nearly every game last season. We get battered, dominated, embarrased at a rate of 1in3 and are incapable of playing well. Slightly the better of two bad teams in a bad game is as good as it gets.

Weve just been distinctly second best to West Brom and Fulham at home.

I couldn't be more certain that we'll be awful.

Not once under this fat mess have we been able to string more than 2 passes together. 1970s Brazil, man. Come on. We absolutely know with certainty we’ll look either absolutely fucking shite or just a slightly better version of absolute shite.

We’re predictable as fuck.

But, Steve Bruce. His history tells you he and his teams gets worse the longer he's there, and we are entering that little twilight zone are we not ?
