  1. ^^^ it's a good side. My only critique would be that has 0 upside against most people that FH34/35 and bench boosting 37. Depending on your rank or mini-league, that might not matter.
  2. Pundits and Youtubers always talking rubbish. I heard someone say Emery isn't in the same boat as Howe next season because Villa haven't spent money like us. And it's like errrr..... yes they have. They are also right up against FFP limits. In totality, he's probably had a 10-game (at most) shakey period in his management with us. And that was how he dealt with a very bad hand at that too. If he gets us European football he's bullet-proof next season.
  3. I think Chelsea are the biggest rivals. Spurs remaining fixtures are too easy imo.
  4. Ok - i'll be brain dumping my thought process as I go for NO league #1 and a top 5-10k finish worldwide. Almost certainly going BB37 I have 2FT. There's a possibility that I burn a transfer. Defence I have 3 single GWs that I'm considering swapping out all in defence Branthwaite - Sheff U (H), White & Gabriel - Man U (A). I don't like any of the defensive options though. I could get Gvardiol for an Arsenal CB, swap out Ederson for Vicario. That gets me 1 more fixture for free, and probably a better City defensive option. This feels a bit defensive though. Attack I'm tempted to take out B. Fernandes as a luxury. Richarlison, Havertz or Saka. Even though Arsenal only have 1 game, I can see them racking it up at Man U as reparations for the 7-2 all those years back. Havertz & Saka could easily outscore DGW options. Man U are one of those teams that could easily implode. But also, they could get a jammy 1-0, Fernandes pen, full BPS and kill Arsenal's title charge. I think Richarlison is a great FPL asset and he makes Spurs a much better team. DGW, at home, excellent hunger and movement in the box, 2 home fixtures. But he's a minutes risk and isn't on penalties. This feels like a bit of a needless risk. I genuinely hate Man U though... more than any other club. So anti-Man U sentiment may be driving some of my logic. Having to hope Fernandes scores against Arsenal (who I want to win the league and might have a defensive double up on) and us especially as we are league rivals... is a nasty feeling. Benefit of this is Spurs & Arsenal have good fixtures in GW38 if I want them for that too Captaincy Honestly I'm tempted to go Isak. I love him as a player. He'll score against Brighton and he'll get chances at OT. If he had the hat-trick against Burnley and scored his pen I would be all-in. Him missing and possibly starting with Wilson makes me think Wilson gets the next one though. And he might get subbed. It's a risk. My gut is going here I'll be honest. Haaland is the obvious choice. That 4th goal shows he has his swagger back. On penalties. City might need to un up the GD. He's surely going to eat off that Spurs high line. It's just both are away. This is so obvious when you type it out. I like Son as an option too.
  5. I think Forest is a good matchup as well. They like to sit deep and can actually defend. The last few matchups for Chelsea have been good. Proactive teams like Spurs and West Ham haven’t been able to defend all season and the manager is on the way out.
  6. They have Bournemouth at home. They’ll win that. It’s Forest looking to secure their PL status and Brightons last home game of the season that is the moment.
  7. Aye he scored goals and provided assists. I didn’t see a fantastic footballing talent though.
  8. Mount is one of those players that never passed the eye test to me. He seemed to have good movement and score goals and get assists. But I never saw a super talented player.
  9. Gordon’s 6 pointer aye. Just ahead now it seems.
  10. He's not in the team because the experts have judged that he's ready. He's in the team because there are no other options. He looks ready now - despite the experts not thinking he's ready. This is my issue with some people. They act like everything is part of a master plan. If not for injury crisis Hall would be sitting on the bench getting few minutes.,
  11. Agreed. I think Howe went too cold with Hall a few months ago. I won't give him massive credit for Hall's form now because he's had no choice. I give him credit for getting the tune out of him now. I wish he had a bit more faith in the lad awhile ago. As you say - serendipity is real. Injuries have given us a run of games of what the future looks like at fullback for us and it does indeed look good. If not for injury crisis both FBs would be on the bench getting few minutes.
  12. They can keep outspending us and Villa for some time to come. Spurs spend the lowest wages-to-revenue ratio in the league I believe. Villa are right up against the limits.
  13. Think Man U are the weakest of the 4 atm. Droppoing points here and against us would seal ETH exit. Maybe even 1 dropped result will be enough.
  14. They don’t. They can still afford a huge summer spending spree because they are so far away from the upper limits of FFP currently. New laws and existing laws. Aston Villa are right up against it with the current FFP laws and the next. They need the CL money.
  15. I think I’m better positioned for GW37 but I prefer his team for GW38. If I’m not ahead by 10 points by next GW I think he wins
