  2. We will be a worse side without him. You simply aren't getting a midfielder of that quality in the market right now, with FFP strings loosened or not. And midfield is already the weakest part of the pitch for us. Makes more sense to sell literally anyone else.
  3. You don't. He's the one player in our team who is completely irreplaceable.

    Lewis Hall

IIRC Howe was pretty clear when discussing Hall earlier on in the season that he sees him as a LB - I don't think the subs today or any lack of midfield appearances mean a great deal in assessing where things are at with him.
  9. Shouldn't be under any pressure this season. If the end of the season is seriously underwhelming he will be shouldering a degree of pressure going into next season but that comes with the territory.

    Jacob Murphy

Aye, I thought he had a decent game for the most part too. Did well in the first half, some surprisingly intricate movements. Not quite as effective on the left in the second, and showed some poor decision making at the end of the game, which I think has to be looked at in the context of the entire setup becoming less structured in possession as we sought a winner and tried to weigh that priority against the threat that Luton still posed. As usual, people are keen to identify convenient scapegoats after a disappointing game.

    Lewis Hall

We haven't seen anywhere near enough of him to make any kind of judgement, and arriving at anything conclusive re: his potential and value to us in the future is already trickier than usual when he is only 19. Therefore I'm happy to go with the judgement of the club on this one - they clearly identified him as someone who could be moulded into a CL level left-back in time. Unless they have real reason to overturn that judgement, I'd like him to stay.
