Fulham 0-1 Newcastle United (06/04/23) | Reaction: pg 44

Fwiw, Janelt on Brentford just did the exact same foul as Dummett in the previous match, and VAR was not even consulted at all. Edit: It was Zanka, but the point stands. -
Newcastle United 1-1 Everton (02/04/24) | Reaction: pg 40

Idiotic from Dummett, but that is a "VAR Penalty". Had no effect on the play and was nowhere near the ball. This would never be given as a penalty five years ago. -
Some would say it was the second best right hand delivered by a Nigerian in a Muslim-majority country this month.

Mad scenes in Turkey between Trabzonspor and Fener. Trabzonspor supporters entered the pitch attacked the Fener players. Livakovic was punched in the face, one of the players was running from a fan attempting to hit them with the corner flag, Batshuayi kicked a supporter in the face, and Nigeria's own Bright Osayi-Samuel connected with a beautiful right hand This is the kind of nonsense happening in the Turkish league these days. Unbelievable that this sort of behaviour is still occurring. Let me join the chorus of people expressing their dislike for Klopp. Genuinely unpleasant when faced with even mild adversity, his entire persona is a facade contingent on everything going his way. The Premier League has been blessed with some wonderful personalities among its greatest managers, but Jurgen is the only one I truly cannot stand. He will not be missed AT ALL.

Chelsea 3-2 Newcastle United (11/03/24) | Reaction: pg 45

Botman's form is very worrying. If the injury is affecting him this badly, then he needs to sit. Bring Jamaal, he will be more effective. -

Two disgraceful set pieces Trippier is missed. -

Burn was the one beat for the initial cross, tbf, but Sven cleared. -

Watching replays, the clearance from Botman for the first goal is laughable. He just casually chips the ball back into the danger area under little pressure. This is the first thing you are taught to avoid as a young defender, even before playing proper matches. Conceding the corner is preferable. -
Napoli and Barcelona are both horrendous teams. Lewandowski and Osimhen both did very well with their only real chances to make it 1-1, but the overall quality of play is unbelievable for two sides that won major leagues last season.

Callum Wilson: back in full training (Downie)
Segun Oluwaniyi replied to Strawberry's topic in Football
The point is that Wilson is too unreliable to be one of only two. If you carry a player with his injury history, a replacement is necessary Also, these teams have wide players and attacking midfielders more suited to the striker position if needed. They have more quality in those positions overall, actually. -
Callum Wilson: back in full training (Downie)
Segun Oluwaniyi replied to Strawberry's topic in Football
It is simply poor planning to only carry two senior strikers in the squad and to have on of those strikers be Callum Wilson. This a team that was meant to compete on four fronts this season and play more than 50 matches. I am a fan of Wilson as a player, but he has proven that his fitness is unreliable over the course of several seasons at two clubs. The situation cannot be surprising. -
They did not have a chance to get forward. Zaidu, Iwobi, and Aina made sure of this. They were abhorrent. The team has potential with a real coach, they will appoint a European nobody or an uncle. Congrats to CIV.

Deserved to lose. Disgraceful.

Nottingham Forest 2-3 Newcastle United (10/02/24)
Segun Oluwaniyi replied to Yorkie's topic in Football
Elanga is the fastest wide man in the league; one of the fastest in the world. Playing Burn doesn't even make sense from a tactical sense, never mind his recent performances. Howe is doing nonsense with his loyalty to him. -
Nottingham Forest vs. Newcastle United: 10/2/24 @ 17:30 (Sky Sports)
Segun Oluwaniyi replied to HaydnNUFC's topic in Football
Awoniyi, Elanga, Odoi is one the most athletic front threes in the entirely world and Howe is starting Burn. I really do not understand it. If he is isolated for pace the way he was last week, the same thing will happen.
