    Starting Eleven
  1. Forest caused a lot of the problems themselves, completely killed off their promotion squad and replaced them with like 20+ players, gave stupid salaries to the likes of Lingard, signing Dennis for 20m, Richards with a broken foot, sacking Cooper, just ridiculous leadership from the top.
  2. Reintroduce the foreign player rule from the 90s in your starting eleven. That would really drive teams to look to their academy and grow the English players. Remember it drove Fergie mad in the 90s. Maximum of five in your starting eleven. https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.theguardian.com/football/2000/jul/02/newsstory.sport It was discussed in more recent times in the above article, but the Premier league and the likes of Chelsea didn't like the idea.
  3. Think it was during the late aftermath, people were still isolated etc, remember Howe missing his first home game. I was also thinking it would have been harder to attract work, plus those who you'd need to get the things in place you speak of further up, would also have had contracts on hold that would need completing before taking on more. You gotta consider the knock on effect, especially those huge redevelopment projects, they take years anyway, pushing work further back.
  4. Covid? Shave 2/3 years off, puts us back at the start.
  5. He's 20, he was thrown in at 17, labelled to have big potential. Think he's linked with Fulham. If we profile him he'll fail the bellend test as you alluded to. French football expert Jonathan Johnson has warned that Cherki's character would have the potential to cause issues in United's dressing room, Manchester Utd and Newcastle are keeping tabs on Lyon's Rayan Cherki who has "massive attitude problems", a report claims.
  6. The only likely teams I could see triggering the 100m release is Man City, Madrid. Madrid don't actually need him, there midfield is set for a long time Tchouaméni, Valverde, Camavinga, Bellingham, but they do have two ageing, in Modric and Kroos who could be replaced. Man City on the other hand could really do with having the extra quality in that area having only Rodri and Kovacic, I guess with getting it wrong with Phillips, and now Nunes, they possibly will be looking at Bruno who I believe would have no problems playing in their side. It's probably a no brainer for Man City, they'll be looking at Bruno and Paqueta, City possibly shot themselves in the foot not triggering Douglas Luiz buy back before 2021, he's now progressed to be a tidy midfielder at the age of 25, its reported they have a sell on clause though.
  7. Just played the best team in football with many key players missing, away from home where they rarely ever lose a match, confidence going in somewhat low, we were dominated in possession but reduced them to two lucky goals, and on another day Isak could score the opportunity's he was presented with? This was always going to be an uphill struggle, even if we could have put our absolute best out this evening, we would have still had a huge challenge. Man City are on a different level to us, our fans need to know our lane and stop being such deluded fuckwits, this is off the back of the Eddie Howe must go shit gathering pace on Twitter. They do my head in, a loss here or there and they're waiting to pounce like sad little twats, starting to wish we never qualified for the champions league, it's given so many a false sense of entitlement, lack of humility. Such a shame those same fans no doubt showering Howe with admiration, love, and praise after the Leicester game last season, all forget so quickly, even when the poor fella has his hands tied with a season of relentless problems. Please don't be one of them, resist these fucking vampires.
  8. Shite can't be arsed anymore. Btw, Hall has been great, struggling to understand the, he's not ready thing.
  9. Wish BBC did an option to watch without commentary. Really struggling with these wankers.
  10. Isak on his day could have this at 2-2 if he took both opportunities.
  11. The difference, City's attack press from the front, they're all drilled in chasing the ball down and winning it back, all the front six defend as an attacking unit hunt in a pack, out of possession we simply don't match it, you're not seeing Isak, Gordon, Willock etc doing anything like the same. So many look really leggy, not a criticism, it's just obvious what's in front of you. Then you realise City have two squads to our ravaged one.
  12. Schar, Lascelles both on yellows, and Doku being a menace could be a nightmare.
