About Yorkie

  1. Absolutely, anything that strengthens club identity works for me. Then kit 3 for the annual variation. Maybe something vaguely interesting for goalies from time to time. I couldn't imagine having any opinion at all about goalies kits now, aside from "boring."
  2. Shot quality and chance creation makes for exceptional reading. We're creative and clinical, which is a recipe for goooooooooooals.
  3. Agree. First Greek side in a European final since Ajax near Panathinaikos in 1971. Great to see.
  4. That is Diame Brighton levels of fortunate.
  5. Also just seen that Kaiserslautern are Bayer's opponents in the German Cup Final. Eh? They're literally in the relegation battle in the second tier.
  6. Annoyingly haven't seen a kick of either of Villa's legs. How's this happened? Just Olympiacos playing out of their skins or have Villa shit the bed? Great to see.
  7. I don't think that's necessarily the case assuming we don't have carte blanche in terms of transfers, and providing that we maintain our challenge to the top six. However, I do agree that there's almost a bit of a line in the sand after his first three seasons here. It's a new chapter and there's probably going to be more justified pressure if things aren't going great. Season 1, pretty low expectations and a job very well done. Season 2, expectations exceeded by lightyears. Season 3, stacks of credit in the bank and, if we finish 6th, any reasonable expectations again exceeded. Season 4, expectations probably very high.
  8. God that noise from the gantry.
  9. Assumed he'd barely kicked a ball this season but turns out he featured in most games both for Liege and QPR. Hope he keeps his career going.
  10. If you've got a decent ball or two, might as well bring it/them. Would rather have too many than none.
  11. I watched the highlights of Messi's most recent game and he and Suarez (didn't realise he was there) looked like they were having the most fun anyone has ever had on a football pitch. Like, the standard isn't so woeful that there's zero challenge, but they can just dick about and score 23 goals no bother.
  12. You’re not alone I don't mind Neville. I disagree with him quite a lot but I like his podcasts and think he's actually a canny interviewer. I'd probably find myself irritated by him less if modern football broadcasting hadn't abandoned the concept of neutrality. He's basically Sky's Man Utd correspondent, among his peers who speak for other clubs and tend to be equally irritating in that context. But when you line up the army of football commentators (meant in the broadest sense) his voice always tends to feel like one of the most bona-fide ones.
