Worst PL Game Ever Played

Newcastle 0-0 Charlton, the one that was rearranged after the bad snow.

Newcastle 0-0 Fulham, a couple of years back before Christmas.

Can’t remember who it was against, maybe Palace actually, but the game where our fans made the paper planes and chucked them on the pitch. Was 0-0 again.

That was the day after my 18th so my first proper night out in Newcastle. Game was fucking terrible, they were bottom, yet to take a point or keep a clean sheet away from home and we didn't have a shot on target. Remember them missing a few good chances to win it in stoppage time.

It was truly shocking. Both of the games against Fulham at SJP were under Rafa.

Would still happily sit through that 10 times a season to have the beautiful man back in my life.

That was under Fat Sam in that shitty blue kit, wasn’t it?

Could barely string 2 passes together.

Aye. Had a look at a couple of match reports earlier to check my recollection (I was very pissed), the Guardian report starts:

The reporter from the Newcastle Evening Chronicle claimed it was the worst match he had seen in 30 years of covering the Magpies. Supporters joked that the TV in the dugout belonging to Fulham's manager, Lawrie Sanchez, would have been better used showing Strictly Come Dancing rather than the game. The 5-5 draw between teams of young boys and girls at half-time was far more enjoyable than the main event.

I'm very confident I've never seen a worse football match, certainly live, and for context I've probably been to knocking on a hundred Hartlepool United games.

In terms of boring, either of the Fulham ones (at home or away both 0-0)

In terms of dogshit, Liverpool spanking us 6-0 under Pards or Pompey smashing us under Fat Sam.

Wigan 1-0 NUFC under Allardyce on Boxing Day was horrific.

3-0 defeat at home to Liverpool was utter gash. However, the worst under Allardyce had to be the defeat at Derby.

Was that the same game where Shola got sent off for "sarcasm" or some silly shit like that?

Brighton 0-0 Newcastle. Happened in July.

One of the Man Utd v Liverpool games in recent years that was built up as fuck by Sky and it ended up being utterly terrible.

The 0-0 at home to Brighton around September  2019 to is a contender the first 45 mins in particular was the worst half of football I ever watched

Those two 0-0s, Boro and Palace, were consecutive home games. Grim.

They were in April 2005, which looked like this:

2nd - Villa (h) 0-3, Bowyer and Dyer fight, Taylor on the line

7th - UEFA Cup 1st leg vs Sporting, 1-0 win

10th - Spurs (a) 0-1, Harper fluffs a clearance straight to Defoe

14th - 2nd leg vs Sporting, enough said

17th - FA Cup semi final, 1-4, murdered by Man United

20th - Norwich (a) 1-2, Kluivert equalises 89 minutes, Ashton wins it in added time

24th - Man Utd (a) 1-2, that Rooney volley

27th - Boro (h) 0-0

30th - Palace (h) 0-0

Certainly the most soul crushing month I can remember following Newcastle.

Awful month that. Bellamy and Robert both pushed out by souness. Despite them being the reason we were good the 2 seasons prior
