Probably a better defender than Lejeune in fairness, just doesn’t have the distribution in his locker. Optimistic Nut Posted September 23, 2018 Share Posted September 23, 2018 This is where I think Rafa’s system makes Lascelles for instance, look better than he maybe is. If they’ve got any sort of ability then the way we play, they’ll look even better under Benítez. I always had Fernandez down as an adequate PL standard defender watching from the outside when he was at Swansea, but he doesn’t look any worse than Lascelles seeing him at first hand. James Posted November 5, 2018 Share Posted November 5, 2018 It’s typical of the club though we pile high on players in positions that are relatively cheap to acquire, so Rafa has in this instance been able to sign good players.
