  1. Predictable as fuck. "We are Man U, only we are allowed to ask big money to release staff from their contracts" This is what happens when cartels are allowed to run the whole league without any fear of competition.
  2. There were specialists who advised an op immediately and some who didn't. It was diagnosed as a slight tear, which is not like it was just feeling a bit sore. Maybe we should lean more towards the more cautious specialists in future.
  3. Yep. Feels like we went with the fingers crossed decision rather than than the safest one. Maybe there's some hindsight in there, but given our awful injury situation this season, it feels like we are getting these decisions wrong more often than right.
  4. Or if Tonali gets a further ban, take on a few more betting companies as sponsors just to show how fucked up the priorites of the FA are.
  5. Maybe they were just being thorough in collecting all the evidence. I know the first instinct is to believe they took so long to add on more time out, but then they would have to face serious questions over Toney's ban, and as someone already mentioned, Paqueta as well.
  6. The clubs who are already at the top of the tree are always going to have the pick of staff, whether playing or management. We did well to get Ashworth in hindsight, he's obviously highly rated if Man U have poached him. We just need to do the same again, obviously it's a lot harder now that the PL have pulled up the drawbridge on spending money to protect the cartel clubs. It will take some ingenuity and long term vision.

He'd probably like to be a first team goalie again, whether he's good enough is another matter. Clearly not going to happen here so a move makes sense.

I won't ever get past our 5th position finish as being the result of injuries forcing Pardew to pick our best players. Pretty sure Ben Arfa was out of the team before that. But that was one of the few times in the last 30 years or so I can remember us having two strikers that other teams genuinely feared. The quality of the goals they scored was something else as well.
  9. I wonder what that would get you? £60m is the sort of figure which buys promise, not the proven article. Could unearth another diamond, or just as easily buy a player who can't acclimatise to the Premier. If we are talking British talent then you'd struggle to buy a top midfielder or striker who you could guarantee would perform to the levels of a Bruno or an Isak.

    Alexander Isak

I wonder how many of those who think he doesn't bring enough to the table would like to see him at Arsenal?

As I've just said in the other thread, you sometimes don't appreciate what you've got until it's gone. Proven strikers in the Premier league don't come cheap, even spending £70m on a replacement from abroad doesn't guarantee anything.
  12. I know there's a chunk of fans who think Isak doesn't do enough, but he does score goals. I wonder how satisfied those fans would be with a target man who held the ball up really well but scored 5 goals a season?
  13. I've heard the same rumours, will be interesting to see what happens in the summer.
  14. I wonder who it was in our hierarchy that decided Paqueta wasn't worth £45m? Or was it either him or Tonali?
