Tough match, never do well here, surely weāve got to win at some point ffs. Plenty goals in this fixture. -
Heās not going anywhere in the summer. I think we have a good chance of getting top four next season which would probably keep him even longer. If we donāt however I think heāll go next summer in 2025.
-
Yeah we definitely need more pace at CB. The thing is I donāt doubt Botman will come back to a really high level but heās not a speedster and he may even lack his previous pace for a bit post injury.

My mate, a red living in Manchester has now lost patience, the form this season has clinched it. Just not enough progression, players form all over the shop, same mistakes made on the pitch and seemingly ongoing off the pitch nonsense.
-
Itāll be interesting to see what happens with Targett in the summer. I definitely donāt see another out and out LB coming in unless Targett goes. Thereās also fairly strong rumours about Kelly coming whose another CB who can play LB.
-
If we get all those weāll be looking very good indeed. Thereās probably an argument that we need two CBs though.

A strong finish to the season with European qualification sets up a completely different summer vibe of positivity. Going to Man U and winning would be the icing on the cake. All the players are obviously aware of how badly injuries have limited potential this season. Most including Bruno will realise that with a fit squad and some additions we will have a very good team again next season. Im starting to think heāll be here next season now.

The only way Isak goes is if he agitates for a move and it seems like heās pretty content at the moment. If weāre not in the champions league the year after next then it might be more likely he goes but thatās a way off yet. Just donāt see the club selling him, his current form has almost priced him out of a move anyway as heād cost an absolute fortune. 120m + Arsenal fans will no doubt assume theyāll be getting him this summer š (I actually think theyāll sign Toney)

I agree I donāt think it has to be a total overhaul. Obviously if Bruno left that would force a restructure in midfield. But assuming no big players leave and then they can ship out a few possibly like Wilson and Miggy and bring in a few in key positions weāll be looking pretty good. Striker, a right wing option and CB depth seem like the key areas. Iād still love a really solid experienced LB to come in too.
-
I actually think we need 3 strikers really. I canāt see Wilson staying and another striker coming in too but that would be my preference. The problem is Wilson canāt be relied upon as the dependable second striker because heās out so much. That then heaps major pressure on Isak. If he stayed and we brought in another striker then weād be looking really strong but highly unlikely. He has just built a home in Darras Hall though so that doesnāt sound like heās looking to move anytime soon š¤·āāļø My guess is a promoted club or bottom half club will take a punt on Wilson and weāll use the money together with a few others say maybe Miggy to boost incoming signings.

Yeah I agree on Gallagher. Heād slot into our midfield well but with Tonali coming back, Willock hopefully back to full fitness next season, Anderson is going to get better and Joelinton has resigned I just donāt see the need. In the event of a Bruno sale thereād obviously have to be a restructure a bit but even then I couldnāt see Gallagher coming in. Our transfer funds will go heavily towards CB, striker, winger and possibly a starting LB too.

Joe Willock: Out for the remainder of the season with Achilles injury (Hope)
ExiledGeordie replied to 54's topic in Football
Unless thereās a rupture surgery isnāt indicated for an Achilles. Reading between the lines itās a complex tendinopathy which can be hard to manage let alone in elite sport. Sounds like the best decision to rest him and get him ready for next season.
