Isaac Hayden: on loan at QPR

Well Bruce can have no excuses now..He was perfectly happy with his squad that he felt no need to use any of the 2 loans we had available to us

So with Hayden prabably out for a couple of weeks, Bruce is gonna go with Shelvey and Hendrick now, isn't he?

Quite embarrassing for Hayden that a centre half came on in his place and was much better at using the ball. You can't play Isaac deep because he can't take the ball off the back 4 at all.

I agree. It's just that average qualifies you as one of the best at the club.

I think Hendrick will do a not too dissimilar job if he plays there at Wolves. He’s not as good but he seems to have a bit of movement. Shame Longstaff only has one gear.

We all know our midfield is shite.  Hayden is the best of a moribund group.

He’s probably a 6/6.5 out or 10, the rest 4s & 5s in terms of Premier League quality.

Our central midfield is just bad. Shelvey, Hayden, Longstaffs and Hendrick. They're all either squad player quality or not good enough. Our weakest area in the squad by a mile.

Dinna like, he barely got a game under Bruce as it was and we've only added Jeff Hendrick to our midfield since Ki left.

Possibly aye, he was better on the ball than most of our lot, to look for a positive.

I'm personally just waiting for Bruce to say something along the lines of "if we had 10 Jeff Hendrick's we'd be alright" whilst we sit in the relegation zone post-Christmas.

Yes and no, Bruce doesn't get what he could out of them, but also the 5 of them aren't good enough to move us forward as a side and bring out the best in the attacking talent we have.

As a team we don't protect the defence, our covering is pathetic.

Hayden can be as good as Rice on his day but then Rice isn’t as good as Rice half the time, so we’re comparing players who are utterly inconsistent.

The problem is that most premier league teams have a midfielder who can do it all, some even have two or three.

Where as we have one who can kick a ball but moves like a snail, one who can get around a bit but zero creativity and one who can tackle but otherwise does little else of any note.

Oh and the other two locals, the jury is still out on them. They just seem like odd shapes in a puzzle they aren’t a part of.

If the takeover ever goes through, we need a total overhaul of the midfield.

I'd still say Matty could be our best and that he's been held back by not actually starting a game without Sean also starting.
