  1. I'd be happy enough with that tbf.
  2. I think the argument made was that if Wilson's workload is managed then he would be less prone to injury. Where do we get a third striker who is going to score goals without spending a shitload of cash? The only way we buy another striker is if we sell Wilson, and for that we'd need a buyer who will pay enough to fund a replacement. I'm struggling to think of one for the £10-15m we might get for Wilson.
  3. I think they'll be very pleased they didn't sign him in the long run. I doubt he'd have made any difference to this season, and by next season they'd have paid £12m for a 34 year old. While I'm still very happy to have him here for another season, I don't really see the point in giving him a contract beyond that at this point.
  4. I think a lot of fans views have been skewed by this season's terrible injury list compounded by Tonali's ban. With a lot of these players back next season our squad doesn't look half bad at all, we might just need cover in a few areas and some cherries on top in a couple of others.
  5. If it's going to cost us £40m to buy a replacement and we can't sell Wilson for enough money to cover that, then there might be a scenario where we just use him like @TRC says until his contract runs down.
  6. This is one of those few games where the timing seems to have worked in our favour. We get a 10 day rest beforehand, and they have got their shock win capability out of their system against Liverpool. They'll be ripe for a comedown loss against us at home.
  7. It's interesting that a defensive CM seemed such a priority in winter window after Tonali's ban, but with him hopefully returning along with Miley for next season, a CM is probably well down the list of priorities now. The club's gamble that we could see out the season with what we have might actually be proven right if we qualify for Europe.

    Harvey Barnes

He's the polar opposite of Maximin. None of the outrageous skills, but 4x the end product.

    Dogawful Officiating

I know you're trying to be funny (but serious at the same time) but when you have the commentators on BT Sport congratulating the ref in today's game for keeping the cards in his pocket after blatant cheating fouls from both sides, then there's your problem right there. This "it's a mans game" philosophy might have sounded good 20 years ago, but it really just punishes good football and rewards the cloggers.
  10. I think Elliott has added a massively needed balance and power to the midfield which we've missed since Joelinton's been out, but little touches like getting performances from players like Krafth playing on the wrong side are all Howe.

    Alexander Isak

Should never even go there. It's like comparing Henry to Shearer, both were brilliant in their own ways, but only one was a local legend.

    Elliot Anderson

That's exactly how I have felt over the last couple of games.

    Elliot Anderson

His desire and physicality is exactly what we needed when our squad has been decimated.
  14. Soz I meant a hat trick. Getting my words all mixed up under all this action.
