Pretty sure that was during the first VAR season, and the rules has changed since then. Back then, the linesman would raise his flag but play would go on and then the ref would pull it back. Nowadays, the linesman should keep his flag down if it's a close call and then raise it. Don't know why he raised it straight away tonight.

That late Bayern goal, was both Muller and De Ligt offside (think it was them two?)? Looked to me like Muller was on, but was working so couldn't see it properly.

Yup. Football isn't a fucking court room, who gives a fuck if a player might have been encroaching by half an inch? Especially when the game is 3-0 and there was only ever one winner at that point

Mike Williamson winning player of the season is so fucking depressing

Wasnt that the point?

Ange pure hates VAR, so for that reason alone he's definitely in my good book. Seems to be incredibly naive as a manager, that game against Chelsea when they went down to 9 was one of the most ridiculous things Ive ever seen

There’s no way that Chelsea deserve any type of European football next season. Definitely not over us, but not over fucking anyone.

Reckon he's one of the best signings we've ever made. Can't wait to have him back

I really hope he stays for another season, absolutely love him as a player.

Sorry to quote myself, but honestly this makes so much sense that I’m sure the PL hasn't even thought about it, and id they did they discarded it straight away. Would mean that any team can only spend what they themselves can currently afford without having to pay fines down the pyramid, so it stops absolute chancers coming in and trying to have a one off great season with money they might not have. But at the same time it allows the likes of us, Villa, West Ham etc to be as ambitious as the ones at the absolute top without worrying about points deductions.

Something like the new rule sounds so much more fair than the bullshit FFP we've seen up until now. 5x seems a tad too much though, but whatever, it would put everyone on a much more level playing field and allow any even the newly promoted teams to spend and be ambitious if they sustain it. Can't work along with the 70/85% rules they are bringing in as well if there's points deductions for breaking that. Actually, it would work pretty well to have the rumoured "Luxury Tax" on the 85/70% rule, and then point deductions for the 5x Lowest Income rule.

I don’t know any match going fans that are even remotely in favour of VAR. It's absolutely ace going to games here and not having to worry about the absolute bullshit that is VAR. If a goal is scored, you take a quick glance at the linesman and if his flag is down, you celebrate like a mad man. It's fucking great tbh.
