It was a 50/50 that the other guy bottled. If a player actually HAS control of the ball, and Hayden does a challenge like that, then it's a red.

What’s the rule? Don’t tackle people too hard? On the floor, one foot, side of foot, ball won... but not too hard.

Hayden was favourite for that ball and could have just nicked it. This mentality of goign in hard is reckless and often just means you miss the ball completely and end up having to leave the pitch.

Carr and Babayaro circa 2005-06 was a lot worse.

When I played football, you knew if it was a 50/50 you both had to go in hard. It's actually protects you doing that.

Half-hearted fanny tackles can get you hurt.

Again massively different if the player HAS control of the ball and the tackle is like that. That is a red. Fair enough.

Pretty much, getting the ball first doesn't justify trying to break the opponent's leg.

Hayden, and Schar, are showing the most frustration for a complete lack of direction/tactics. Ironical considering Hayden was (seemed to be) complaining about Rafa lying in wait outside the hotel and talking tactics for hours.

Stupid tackle, born of frustration I suspect, expect to see the team fall apart even more as the games go by.
