  1. I'm clearly a big soft cock like because I'd be furious if that happened against us and the player got a yellow. You can't go full pelt, studs up, head height and say you're in control of the challenge. It's unlucky, there is no malice but don't think that matters really.
  2. Hardly inspiring but you spend your money upgrading your weaknesses, not your strengths. Yedlin is clear 1st choice so 4mil back up is fine. Rather this than 12mil spaffed on Jenkinson.
  3. +1 on the PES Fan forum. Might have even been how I found here tbh. GD was definitely on there (or that name was).
  4. A couple of players who can work in tight spaces in the middle of the park would be great.
  5. Palace have serious investors who don't know a lot about football? Looks like they have that in common with their manager in that case.
  6. He was much worse last week so todays horrorshow was atleast an improvement on that.
  7. Not to go all spreadsheets on this deal but we do have to finance a squad in the Championship and I'm sure we had to get a MA loan last time. I wouldn't be surprised if the Sissoko cash went towards running the club rather than being kept to one side. That said, I'm not sure who at the club will still be on top money. Got to have saved a ton on wages.
  8. Kinda hope we don't settle for less. If no one pays up try and rinse some desperate fools in January. Don't even have any ill will towards him, but I absolutely do not want the club to pander to his ego.
  9. I admire his distain for West Ham. Those bits recently have been spot on.
  10. We've spent best part of 25 million on Gayle and Mitro. Realistically we werent going to spend another 10+ million on a bench warmer. I also imagine he's no where near our first choice but one that fits our profile so our hand was perhaps forced. This will be think kind of signing that either proves people wrong or the type where in 5 months time he plays in an away game and you think "oh, he's still here" imo. He won't get the chance to let people down.
  11. I personally think the team we have now is a fair bit better than the team that got relegated. That said, that is hardly a high bar.
  12. Likely wanted to move but nowt better came along so with a week or so left he's taken his only option out.
  13. I think my biggest worry is that we lack sure things. Our level could be exceptional but we might suffer as we did last season. Ritchie, Diame, Mbemba and to an extent Gayle all look rock solid. In and around that are players with question marks about their consistency and suitability, like Ayoze, Shelvey and Mitro. Sprinkle in the old deficiencies such as no good left sided players, a general lack of thrust and the north easts finest left footed double act and it makes for nervous viewing at times. I do agree with an earlier post mind that mentioned how we may have been lulled into higher expectations than are realistic with some good early signings. I'd still like to see st least one more top draw (for the league anyway) wide/attacking player that you know will deliver.
