The ideal though is that we get taken over in this sort of position than stopping to where Sunderland are for instance. Fuck waiting 3-5 years to come back. A takeover now and you’re a few signings and managerial change from being top 8-10 within a year.

Exactly this, in a nutshell.

Just not happening. Ashley won't sell.

The club needs to be destroyed before it can be rebuilt. L1, L2 don't give a shit. It needs to be as toxic as possible before he lets us go

Should we take 4 points from next two games we won’t go down.

Would be the first time in a few years were we make an attractive proposition to any buyer at early-mid season.

He's not interested in selling. We could be as attractive as you want, he won't sell. That's the issue.

This is sadly the truth, he’s not going anywhere unless it goes completely belly up or someone offers him ludicrous money that blows everything out of the water.

Norwich look the biggest certainties to be relegated. They can't defend and the goals from Pukki have dried up.

I think Newcastle are then the most likely. Forwards can't score and Bruce is just not convincing at all even when the team plays well.

Then I reckon will come down to Watford, Southampton, Villa and maybe another team which will plummet in the 2nd half of the season. Its not the big relegation scrap like the last few seasons only a handful of teams I can realistically getting relegated.

I think we'll probably stay up; Rafa used his shoestring budget extremely well when it came to the defence and we still look relatively in control there. Providing the butthurt little wet lettuce currently in the dugout doesn't tamper too much - or doesn't piss everybody off with his fortnightly home-truth sessions - we'll probably avoid defeat enough times to ensure survival. Then onto another season of dreary, forced underachievement and finger-crossing, watching from the sidelines as the latest batch of small-to-medium-sized clubs make legitimate attempts on the top 6 whilst enjoying European excursions. NUFC - living the dream.

Rinse & repeat. He’d get £100m for Dubravka, Schar, Almiron, St Maximin, Joelinton...buy a £15-20m striker who’d get 20 plus down there, sign a few £8-12m wingers and we’d be favourites again.

He's already got Dwight Gayle, would keep the likes of Hayden, Yedlin, probably even Lascelles, Clark, Dummett, Longstaff. He's not going to sell if we go down.

He'll sell when he wants and when if he finds a buyer he can take the piss out of. We all know that.

My point about going down is that at least it shows his way of running the club is failing, and it costs him exposure for Sports Direct. The more time we spend in the PL, the more his approach is proved right.

No chance Lascelles would stay if we went down. I expect he'll be wanting a move away at the end of the season whether we stay up or not. He seems an ambitious man and given that he's been with us a fair while, he surely must be thinking he's ready to move on.

He's a very dependable premier league CB now, and could certainly be playing regularly for a team with a modicum of ambition.
