About Yorkie

  1. Could be right; I thought he dug himself out of problems a few times to good effect. My critique is often off when it's my first time at the ground for a while. Too busy soaking it all in. I was in the East Stand/Leazes corner for the first time. Loved the view and there was a good atmosphere there, plus I was at the back of a section so had the pleasure of being able to stand. Good lord the legroom was the pits though. I wonder how tall people can cope at times.
  2. Frustration lingering well into today after that. I didn't think we played particularly badly by any means and credit to Brighton for doing a job on us. The issues for us were clear; final ball lacking, quality finishing lacking. A ref that enabled one team's shithousery. Boiling conditions preventing us from implementing an effective pressing game which can give us an edge. I'm wondering if Harvey Barnes is going to be defined by maddening inconsistency; for him to fire-in that absolute missile against West Ham, too those two limp dick efforts yesterday. So frustrating. I thought Tino and Krafth were very good from a defensive point of view and Bruno drove most of what was good. Good to see Trippier back and it was a lovely surprise to see Cisse with Jonas. Thought Anderson was mostly anonymous and Murphy replicated performances of pre-2022.

    Match Atmosphere

    Agree but entirely expected.

    Match Atmosphere

Thought the atmosphere was decent on the whole today. Helps when you've got a panto villain (their goalie) and a shit ref; everyone generally united in noisy pissiness.
  5. the world must know that i didn't think it was quite up to scratch
  6. That image means nowt. It was fecking boiling and everyone was knackered. I mean yeah he's leaving but that pic is just a pic of a tired man.
  7. Thanks again to everyone for coming and making it a brilliant occasion as always. Game 1 was a tough one but the second, with everyone seemingly levelled by the heat, was a cracker. Shout out to the goalies, Chris and @Danh1 who were always busy but both did really well. @AyeDubbleYoo a fair pick for player of the match but shout out to @TaylorJ_01 for two Harvey Barnesy blasties that turned the game on its head.
  8. @midds @BlueStar @Disco @Nobody @Andy Am at the game so can't help with thread title.
  9. Late change to the lineups for Game 2 with Samptime and I switching allegiances.
  10. Class, them. I love the PESMaster thing (assuming that's what you used). Spent all Christmas on it.
  11. Forest was the lowest point of the season and I felt profoundly hideous when we went behind by two at home to Luton and then West Ham. Brighton was chastening and what happened in Paris was horribly unjust. But for sheer, visceral agony - it's got to be Liverpool. For all the games either side of that feel like a lifetime ago now, I can still remember the nausea like it was yesterday. Moment of the season/my adult life: Schar for 4 against Paris. Goal of the season: Barnes West Ham winner. Joelinton vs Milan might've pipped it had it not been for nothing; absolute traction engine of a strike.
  12. Absolutely, anything that strengthens club identity works for me. Then kit 3 for the annual variation. Maybe something vaguely interesting for goalies from time to time. I couldn't imagine having any opinion at all about goalies kits now, aside from "boring."
  13. Shot quality and chance creation makes for exceptional reading. We're creative and clinical, which is a recipe for goooooooooooals.
  14. Agree. First Greek side in a European final since Ajax near Panathinaikos in 1971. Great to see.
