  1. This is such a crap response.we aren’t scouts.
  2. People tell about Forest’s over performance. It’s the same for the players. Elanga has over performed his ‘output’ particularly his assists. Over twice his expected assists were converted
  3. You don’t think a winger or creative player will perform better in the PL than Elanga bought for less than £50m?
  4. We are in the champions league.
  5. Some of it you can contribute to being Forest’s style. And football is not played on paper. But as fans who would you rank out of these 3 to get: The criticism is fair.
  6. I have. Whoscored too. And it doesn’t look good. Confirms what people have been saying about his strength and weaknesses similar to what we already have
  7. They were risks man. Isak scored 6 league goals the season before. Every signing is a risk. Especially foreign ones. Especially foreign ones for big money. Especially foreign ones coming from Serie A. Especially foreign ones who kinda flopped in their last season abroad. I would say Kvara was a low risk signing. Did it consistently for some seasons and in the CL - actually a fairly low fee. Isak was not low risk and neither was Sandro - as we found out.
  8. You said it quite definitively so wanted to ask why. Statistically Akliouche is a more creative and progressive as a player with the caveat of a different league and style. Honestly Minteh’s underlying numbers are similar in strengths and weaknesses but a lot more impressive than Elanga in key areas. Elanga got way more assists than his expected data, Forest are a low possession side so he makes few passes and has low pass accuracy. But he’s also not a massive ball carrier or great 1v1. Elanga doesn’t beat a man on average per 90. Minteh will beat 2+.
  9. A Lor that can be bought for £20-30m before they play in the PL
  10. You think it’s that definitive?
  11. It’s not though is it. It’s £6m + wages a year. It’s not going to bankrupt us. Tonali is £11m per year on amortisation alone. Major risk from Serie A. Isak is £10m. By your logic we should go out and spend £60m on the best winger in France, Spain or whatever and get a sure thing. And with that I would actually agree with you. Not justifying spending £50m on Elanga. Which I also don’t mind. But it’s not great business.
  12. Agreed. But he’s also been less productive in a less competitive league. But he’s a baller. Works hard. Seems fast enough. Seems like he would cost £50m or so too
  13. Exactly. Alos it feels like we are another Isak or Tonali away from being a top side. Not another Anthony Gordon away. When you sign a player you want to think he can become world class. We don’t think that about Elanga.
  14. I’m all in on Howe ball but the criticisms here are valid. Elanga would be our 4th direct runner winger. It’s a variation on a single style. A style that usually works but often struggles against a low block defence that requires some guile and not pace and power to break. And we do like a British based player. Elanga isn’t particularly young like Tino or Hall so the excitement is capped. I don’t mind Elanga. He’s a good player. But I would be disappointed if we don’t sign some type of attacking baller in the window. I’m not expecting Cherki but give me Joao Pedro or someone.
  15. Then I don’t think we’ll get him.
