    Alexander Isak

It’s just a fact that at some point we will have to pay our world class players proper wages, no matter how happy they are to be here now. Isak is reportedly at £120k a week. He knows that players like Sterling, Rashford, Martial, Jesus and Havertz are making 2-3 times the money he gets. All the talk about not swapping him with Haaland while Haaland makes almost £400k a week. It’s a thing that usually gets talked about a lot less than transfer fees when talking about all the financial restrictions. If we are succesful in the transfer market, the wages we have to pay to keep the established stars are going to go up massively or players will get unhappy and start to look for a move to a club that pays them significantly more. Replacing players like Bruno and Isak is almost impossible and the cycle of replacing great players with cheaper options will certainly go tits up at some point setting us back even further on FFP etc. It’s a big challenge for Eales and the others to keep increasing the revenue but they’ll have to find a solution.
  2. I would be totally fine banning meaningless friendlies in Australia after the season. Players are playing way too many games as it is, banning these would make a lot of sense and doubt it has anything to do with the fact it’s NUFC doing it and not someone else.

Think the problem was that Hughes didn't really grab him, just a weird whack. Without a clear pull it's one of those where the original decision usually stands. Didn't help that Longstaff never looks natural going down.
  4. Comparing one of the most successful clubs in France to a club that has a Friendship Trophy with Sunderland listed in their honours.
  5. Clear offside, long live VAR!

Just watched them all. Last one is the worst, especially when Taylor indicates that Young played the ball which simply isn't true and a clear error for VAR to fix. Reyna is also close as Young goes through the attackers leg. Handball is from close range, don't mind if those are not given but wouldn't have any complaints either if that was given against us as the handball takes away a decent chance to score. It's honestly shocking that they didn't get at least one penalty and can understand why they are furious.
  7. They don't have goal line technology though. https://tribuna.com/en/news/fcbarcelona-2024-04-21-tebas-tweets-antigoal-line-technology-articles-after-yamal-nogoal-decision/

  9. It’s the only big 5 league that doesn’t have it, apparently too expensive.
  10. I prefer it this way, the top elite teams will qualify to CL every year in any case. Taking into account the 5-7 placed teams in Europa and Conference almost equally makes a lot of sense considering they are usually the ones taking that potential extra spot.
