  1. I slated the Away ST in another thread but the way that reads it's much, much better than it sounded. Fully prepared to eat my words! I was offered one but I'm not taking it, as there's a couple of games a year that I miss, like Chelsea, the robbing bastards. I was concerned about the way they'd handle it but this is a total result. They're offering to be more transparrent than ever and it's a much more structured apprach, which they've never done before. Knowing where you stand is much better than being left in the dark. For those not in the top 1500 nothing changes really, there's not much to fret about. We get more than 1500 for most games and the people who do take an away ST would have got the tickets before you anyway, along with anyone else in the top 1500 who applies. They're looking after the fans who've stuck at it, which is excellent considering the way they've treated people in the past. Well done NUFC.
  2. It's shit. I rang them earlier to find out more about it. Lass answered and I told her that I was offered one but I'd be away for the first few months of the season and so didn't see the point in getting one, however I'd be resuming my travelling when I got back and wondered if not getting one would affect things. She basically told me that if I don't accept the offer, things MIGHT get tricky next year, IF most people offered one take it. It would work like this:- Say we get 1500 tickets for a game and there are 1000 away ST holders to cater for. They'd sort them out, then leave the rest of the ST holders to scramble for the 500 in the usual loyalty point way. The problem with that is, some people who take the away STs might have previously been lower down the list than some people who didn't, yet they now have higher priority. Wank! That might sound obvious but it's fucking scandalous. The only good thing is, most regs I've spoken to think it's a shit idea, so take up might be quite low. Then again, if they go offering them willy nilly becausethe regulars fail to take the up the points become pointless! What a fucking mess.
  3. It's free. You don't get charged up front for the tickets either, it's a direct debit scheme. You pay game by game as they come. As a regular traveller, I think it's a shit idea.
  4. Away season tickets aswell. If you've got enough loyalty points, the option appears on the back of your form. It's on mine but I'm in 2 minds at the minute. I'd be doing the majority anyway but I dunno if I want to commit, what with me fucking off to Australia for 2 months. If we're shite while I'm away, I get lumped with tickets neebody wants.
  5. blackeye.gif How far down do you sit like, mate?
  6. Nah mate, you can move wherever you want, without paying any extra. You DO NOT have to move to the corner if you don't want to. This isn't a pop at you, I just can't be arsed to make another post after, so don't take it to heart, but.. Some of the posts in this thread are a fucking typical example that when things like this happen, there's always some people who just choose not to read the whole story, coupled with the fact that no matter how many people the club try to please, there's always a group of people who get pissed off. I don't have to move, so you're probably thinking aye aye easy for him etc.. But I have had to move in the past to make way for developments. I just got on with it. It's a perfect time to switch seats to somewhere else and possibly even get sat with your mates. A refreshing change if you like. I really can't see them changing much in the future after all of this, these changes are pretty extensive. I know the view up there is good, but lets be honest, unless you're really low down, there arent may shit seats in our ground..
  7. Aye, agree with that. At least the people who do have to move are being offered good alternatives, too. I think I'll be stopping where I am for now like, let it all die down. I've been in the same seat for a while now and I quite like it. Ticket office have a huge task on thier hands here to be honest, massive chance to sort thier reputation out.
  8. What an absolute bag of shite. I fucking hate Sunday games. Cannit beleive the coppers have let that go ahead like.
  9. Aye, my £60 has been taken aswell. Thank fuck for that.

    Magpie Magic

I like the way they've used our proper Nickname for once, instead of some cringeworthy 'Mighty Toon Army Triumph' type gash.

    Alkmaar (A)

I stopped in Alkmaar. It's obviously a lot smaller and quieter than The Dam, but there's a place called the kaasmarkt (or something similar!) in the centre where there's a few bars. That's where the trouble was when we played them. It was fine all afternoon with both sets of fans having banter, then it boiled over a bit and there was 5 - 10 minutes of mayhem. Not something you'd lik to be caught up in, it settled down though, and we had a few more. I wouldn't take the bairns, and I'd keep your wits about you. You'll sense if the atmosphere is turning. If you decide to stop in The Dam be aware of the train times. They're fairly regular and run late but if you get kept in after the match (more than likely) you run the risk of missing the last one. Enjoy it, you'll have a good time.

    Away Stewards?

Always loads of our stewards in the away end when we play at the SoS, always local coppers at away games too. Common practice.
  13. One of the people who went to the meeting is in his 20s, and I'm fairly sure the others aren't far behind that, so it wasn't exactly 'kids' who attended the meeting.
  14. Please tell me you're taking the piss? Made me chuckle as well mate. Thirded.
