  2. Will always love him for the great memories he's created, on and off the pitch. One of the only players to do so in the Ashley-era of NUFC. It's a massive pity, but probably not a surprise that one man's ego can completely end what could have been a great career here. It seems to be a constant at this club right now, and doesn't look like ending any time soon. Can only wish him all the best. He did an interview where he said he wanted to win trophies here right? Well he's gone somewhere where he has a much better chance and he does deserve it.
  3. What the fuck is wrong with some of those people, making an utter tool of yourself. Why Sky keep letting people just stand around their reporters is beyond me.
  4. Hearing rumours that the owner is planning on selling the club. So she might be taking the money and running.
  5. Not a chance the club would spend 20mil on somebody. And even if it did surely that money would be better spend on possibly getting Lukaku.
  6. Wellington looked the better team for the majority of that game. Wasn't until the last 20 or so that the Hammers looked like scoring. Nix fans will be on the piss all night now.
  7. That's shocking even by A-League standard.

    Pre-Season 2014

All four games are being shown live on Sky arena. Around $40 iirc.
  9. Why on earth would turning up (slightly) overweight be such a massive problem before pre-season training anyway. Most of pre-season training would be getting the guys back into match fitness surely. Which would lead naturally to him losing that weight plus some.
  10. I can't see how anyone can say a 4 month ban from all football is overboard for Suarez. It's clear that he has issues and needs help. Instead of complaining and trying to fight it the Uruguayan FA and Liverpool should be trying to find Suarez the best psychologist they can. Let him/her spend the four months with Suarez trying to find some way for him not to do this shit anymore. He needs this time away from the game, because it's clear right now that the game is causing him to crack. And if not given help it will continue to happen until he either gets the shit beaten out of him by somebody, banned for life or possibly worse. He bit a third bloke in four years for fucks sake. Elbows, dangerous tackles, headbutts yeah they are worse in terms of damage done. They happen to be the result of mistakes making regular actions during a game. Deliberate attempts at those kinds of things are punished severely, although perhaps not to the liking of everybody. Biting however is not a natural part of any sport. Its a desperate action used by somebody believing they are in a life of death situation. It is way out of the scope of a sporting incident. And is not acceptable in any way, shape or form in any sporting event.
  11. [dreaming]This might be a good thing. Roy will get sacked and the FA might continue the downward spiral and hire Pardew.[/dreaming]
  12. The strategy Ashley and the board have goes against the very definition of sport. Newcastle United is a football club, first and foremost. In its 122 year history the goal of every player and fan of the club has been to compete, to fight, to best the best you can be. That's all anyone wants, in all sport and if you win the league or the cup along the way you can say you were the best. But now we have an admission. Newcastle United no longer adheres to that thinking, it is no longer about sporting achievement, it is about the bottom line, revenue streams, cost minimisation. Newcastle United is just and only to these people, a business. It feels like Newcastle United the football club died today. And it hurts to say that, I've given years of support to this club. Endless mornings, afternoons and evenings where I go through every emotion possible watching this club. And I'm not the only one, everybody on this forum goes through the same thing, everybody that has ever supported the Toon has. That is what brings us together, we suffer the bad together, and we celebrate the good together. And now it just feels wasted. But then I remember Sir Bobby Robson's quote about what makes a club. The noise, the passion, the feeling of belonging, the pride in your city. That is the soul of Newcastle United Football Club. And that will never die, not so long as there are fans willing to fight for this club who will never forget what it means to go to St. James' Park to watch our heroes play in the Black and White. We will get rid of Ashley or be rid of him long before that ends. We just need to make that as soon as possible.
  13. Few people on the NUFC subreddit are still firmly in the "it's all Ashley's fault, Pardew is doing as good as he can" group.
