Over a year has passed since the Reds triumphed 6-1 over the Blues (), closing the gap to 4-3 in favour of the Blues overall. This May will see forum members old and new do battle in the eighth of these momentous fixtures. Can Reds even the tie or will the Blues regain their two-win cushion? We've managed to turn these events into an annual thing and I implore anyone who is tempted to just come along. It's a brilliant occasion with a group of lads someone like Chris Hughton would define as 'smashing'. Even if you just fancy watching and then coming for the pints afterwards, get yourself down to Coach Lane campus. Anyone who's turned up before will tell you it's more of an organised kickabout than a serious match, so don't expect to have to run about for 90 minutes if you're not the fittest. There's always subs and it's all just a bit of a laugh anyway. You don't even have to be good at football. There's usually two or three good players, then the rest a mix of decent to shite (guilty). Changing rooms will also be available, incidentally. The date in the title is confirmed. The 3G pitch at Coach Lane campus is completely available on that date (I simply need to say the word in order to confirm the booking). It is also the weekend of the Premier League season's last game. Newcastle host West Ham United to decide who gets 4th the following day. (Sunday 24th, 4pm). Come on, come all.
