Found out last night that one of my mates managed to do it in an hour and 16 minutes, I didn't even realise he took his running that seriously.

Ballot is open now, anyone doing it? Me and about 10 others have signed up. Fingers crossed, loved it last year. Will run for charity this year!

Not a scooby, someone at work said it was today. Presumably if fail on that they just automatically enter you in general ballot like.

I've got membership but haven't got round to sorting my entry yet. I'll do it when I get paid (19th).

17 minutes behind record pace! Guess he must have been in the front 2 or 3 rows at the start.

When do people find out if they have been successful? I can't remember when I found out last year.

What happens if you sign up for a charity, and they say "hit £400" and you only get £250 or whatever, do they ask you to make it up or not let you run?

They expect you to make up the difference I've been told.

Thought as much. Won't be doing it if that's the case. £400 is alot to raise like. I'd be surprised if I raised over £150.

Someone I know is running for Scope and it's £300 with them. Obviously running for a charity close to your heart/beliefs is better but might be worth considering.

I've failed to hit the target before and never got chased up for it. Would've told them to stick it!

I think if it's a few pound it's not chased but I'm reliably informed that other's have paid. No experience myself being a 1st timer in gnr. Blaydon entry tonight by the way, and I've done this one a few times.

I suspect people pay up because they'd feel guilty if they didn't.

Aye was queuing as soon as it opened and was still 900th in the queue! Apparently a fair few missed out who were queuing from the start.
