Yes, that's what email said. Not done gnr although I've been running/plodding for years.

I've got membership but haven't got round to sorting my entry yet. I'll do it when I get paid (19th).

Found out last night that one of my mates managed to do it in an hour and 16 minutes, I didn't even realise he took his running that seriously.
17 minutes behind record pace! Guess he must have been in the front 2 or 3 rows at the start.

When do people find out if they have been successful? I can't remember when I found out last year.

What happens if you sign up for a charity, and they say "hit £400" and you only get £250 or whatever, do they ask you to make it up or not let you run?

They expect you to make up the difference I've been told.

Thought as much. Won't be doing it if that's the case. £400 is alot to raise like. I'd be surprised if I raised over £150.

Someone I know is running for Scope and it's £300 with them. Obviously running for a charity close to your heart/beliefs is better but might be worth considering.

I've failed to hit the target before and never got chased up for it. Would've told them to stick it!

I think if it's a few pound it's not chased but I'm reliably informed that other's have paid. No experience myself being a 1st timer in gnr. Blaydon entry tonight by the way, and I've done this one a few times.

I suspect people pay up because they'd feel guilty if they didn't.

Aye was queuing as soon as it opened and was still 900th in the queue! Apparently a fair few missed out who were queuing from the start.

Did the Great North 10k today in 47:06. Shaved a minute off last year's time so I'm chuffed with that, especially considering I didn't exactly train any harder for it.

Did the distance today for fourth time in as many weeks. Probably tapering down now and trying to get more hills and intervals done to improve on speed.
