With the African Nations next year as well they haven't got time to do proper qualifiers, so Senegal just have a two leg playoff to qualify for it. They probably won't get beat but more likely to get knocked out over two legs than in a group. That would be fantastic.

Getting sick of the same fans behind me in the Gallowgate end who 1/2 of the time sing about Sunderland.  Put your efforts into backing the team.  No wonder why they call us obsessed.

Bent's a brilliant goalscorer, fwiw.

Definitely - everytime he had the ball in and around our area, I was concerned. When he isn't scoring though, he offers nowt to the general play.

He just sits and waits for someone to pass to him so he can shoot. Like a better version of Michael Owen.

Olly Bernard translating for Cisse on MOTD. :aww:
Newcastle 4-4 Arsenal: "From impending tragedy to near-triumph via the most improbable route possible - 95 minutes that neatly encapsulate 130 years of football on this particular piece of grass. Newcastle, United, will never be defeated."

Sir Bobby Robson - What is a club in any case? Not the buildings or the directors or the people who are paid to represent it. It’s not the television contracts, get-out clauses or the marketing departments or executive boxes. It’s the noise, the passion, the feeling of belonging, the pride in your city.

Doesn't finish anywhere near as frequently as his reputation suggests.
Before that why didn't the Wigan fans just walk the the Stewart's, the Stewart's only went up to the touchline, their was a big gap between the end of the Stewart's and the stand they could have walked through.

felt let down by olly. after papisto had been rattling on for 5mins he should have just translated "aye, he says it was canny"
Bullshitters misrepresent themselves to their audience not as liars do, that is, by deliberately making false claims about what is true. In fact, bullshit need not be untrue at all.

Rather, bullshitters seek to convey a certain impression of themselves without being concerned about whether anything at all is true. They quietly change the rules governing their end of the conversation so that claims about truth and falsity are irrelevant.

Olly could have done with his own translator. I couldn't make head nor tail from what he said!

Decent bit of post match stuff from MotD2 :D
Players come and go, managers come and go, chairman come and go, and even stadiums come and go. But we, the fans, are always here and always will be. We are the lifeblood of this club and our ownership is in our hearts. Nobody can take that away from us!

As usual the MOTD highlights missed out a load of chances e.g. Perch's shot, Cisse's header straight at Given, Obertan's over the bar shot, etc. They didn't even discuss the challenge on Taylor or the fact that he was stretchered off!
"Thier" is not a word. "Their" is the correct spelling.
"Loose" is not the opposite of win. "Lose" is the correct spelling.

They also did that old trick of showing something in the analysis that wasn't even in the highlights, this time with Cissé's other left foot volley that Given saved.

And the header from Ba that nearly looped over Given and in.

many probably mentioned this around 3-30pm but i was surprised with villa second half. they really had the better of the back end of the first half, equalised and played well. you'd expect them to really come out at the start of the second half but instead it was like big fat sam had been in the changing room and they just lumped it in the hope bent may get something to fall to him. strange!

Good point actually, I was pretty worried when they scored just before half time. McLeish didn't sound happy with them at all.

Yeah they put too much pressure on Bent with endless balls hit in hope over the top. I think N'Zogbia was causing us trouble and McLeish kindly brought him off for Heskey. Nice.
