Obviously always nervous for the derby, but at home, WBA and Villa have both caught us out on the counter on numerous occassions now.  Bit concerned with the high line we play and the style the mackems are currently playing.  Also think we may struggle to break them down, as AP will got for a safety first option out wide, someone like Raylor (if he's fit) or Obertan ahead of HBA.

Good points in there. I think that our high line is a big problem at times- especially against teams like WBA, Villa and potential SMB's. O'Neil sets all of teams up with the intention to counter attack and generally they do that well. Players like Sessegnon and McClean could take advantage of that, especially against Simpson. However, they aren't exactly all that. If we're on top our game and have the likes of Cabaye and Tiote back, and Pards decides to play Ben Arfa then there are definitely goals there for us- if we're on form I think we could potentially batter the horrible c***s. What does give me comfort is that we are a 'big game' side it seems, have an excellent record against this lot and we're currently on great form.

Tall, left wing, very direct, pacey, puts a good ball in and looks a real handful.  Will give Simpson a really tough time, but I reckon I could give him a run for his money TBF

Agreed. He's got to be dropped, he struggled enough against N'Zogbia and that lad wears blinkers.

(Mags game is so unpredictable, form means nothing in a derby game but we never seem to show up against them despite having a better squad, lets hope MON has better luck against them than the elephant man did)

We probably had a squad on par with them when we were in the Championship! And in our relegation season we, on paper, had a squad easily superior to theirs. Wait...on paper? s***, I'm starting to sound like one of them now

With Tiote and Cabaye back in midfield and Cisse/Ba up front I'm confident of doing these at home but it will be very tight.

They still peddling such bollocks? How on earth do they believe that. Sessegnon is the only player of any real quality they have.

Him, and it's early, but I really (dis)like the look of McClean. Other than that - meh.

for the first 20 minutes, until we score, like it always is.

McClean looks a great player, more MON too than Sessegnon, all pace. Vaughn is capable of great stuff too imo. Larrsson is a bit of a one trick pony too but it's a good trick. It's amazing what Bruce's mismanagement of that team did to them, they're now fast which is most worring, and probably will be pumped up for it this time.

I love the way how they still bang on about having the better squad.

I think their goalie, the Belgian lad, is quite decent too. Apart from them, lower Prem/Championship quality players at best.

If McClean continues to perform well, he could very well be an outside bet for the Euro 2012 Ireland squad this summer.

(Though it does spark the Northern Ireland vs the Republic debate, hmmm).

Indeed, he's declared himself for them.

EDIT: ah, just seen that he's wanted to play for the Republic for a while now. Fair enough.

Well then there's no debate. Its in the Good Friday agreement than someone born in Northern Ireland can play for whichever of the two they choose. There'd be more trouble if they didn't have the choice.

you missed a chance there, always take any opportunity to pose as a mackem. it's amazing what they'll say about their own if they think you're one of them.
Bullshitters misrepresent themselves to their audience not as liars do, that is, by deliberately making false claims about what is true. In fact, bullshit need not be untrue at all.

Rather, bullshitters seek to convey a certain impression of themselves without being concerned about whether anything at all is true. They quietly change the rules governing their end of the conversation so that claims about truth and falsity are irrelevant.
