IMO it's not that it rains a large amount in volume, it just rains so frequently. I mean, from my quick and inaccurate google session, you're looking at somewhere near 200 days in the year there is rain in the NE. Depressing.

Aye it's mingin tbh (the clouds and murkyness that take up about half of the year), just looking out the window now and I feel grim.

That been said too hot is a f***ing pain as well, you shouldn't be covered in sweat the minute you step foot out of your air conditioned home.

it doesn't rain nearly as much (many days) as people think and moan on about here in the north east. can't speak for elsewhere.....however i have form, i've only had 1 full day of rain the lakes and you listening irish mags, i have never been rained on in ireland (about 10 visits at different times of year). so much so that i received a wedding invite for a couple i'd met once.
