Why are we locking the +1000pages thread. Is it something which is done automatically or a must? Because if its just for the sake of it, then thats really s**** tbh. Seems pointless but I hope there is a logic reasoning behind this

Big, big threads take a decent toll on the database. 25k is usually the maximum recommended that they should grow to, so we're trying to stick to that.

Definitely not just for a laugh.
